NGL - I'd take in a fox.

Their giggle is contagious!

Ya, until you hear its scream In the middle of the night.

And smell what their pee is like.

I’ve heard their scenting is pretty unpleasant.

This is true, you might have to breed for that.

[–] roofuskit@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Even the great arctic fox experiment couldn't seem to breed that out.

Curious, I looked it up. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domesticated_silver_fox

It was done in the 50-90s. So I think we should take another stab at it, now that we know more science!

Now we can GMO that right out!

They also lost their 'musky fox smell'."[6]

From the wiki. So seems like they did breed that out?

That's news to me. But it's probably been over a decade since I last looked into it. At one point they were even selling domesticated foxes to people as pets but were warning about their scenting. Thanks for the update!

Shiba Inu’s are kinda close, and a lot less loud and smelly. They’re like dogs with cat software.

I want a dog to care about me more than I think they do. But their facial expressions almost make up for it.

That would be pretty much any dog, really.

Zomg both of my endorphins lit right up watching this 🥰

[–] lars@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 3 months ago

This is the best fox segment I’ve ever seen on tv

[–] sabreW4K3@lazysoci.al 23 points 3 months ago (1 children)

This is funny, because I just read something the other day that said we started out by domesticating foxes

[–] Chocrates@lemmy.world 23 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I swear a scientist in Russia already domesticated foxes once.

Yeah I think so!

This is probably, in the long term, a bad thing. But damn if I don't want a pet fox, raccoon, and capybara. 😍

The real Russian invasion.

[–] Mango@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

Naruto did it.
