My only complaint is that nothing changed after 2020. He was convicted for his crimes committed in 2016 to subvert that election.
This is who he’s always been. His presidency’s only notable feature was its rampant criminality.
2020 was just him raising the stakes for the rest of us.
Interesting. There's been a lot of competing discussion around Biden about how much he should embrace Trump's conviction for his campaigning. I was a bit torn as well, only because him emphasizing it could play into the "rigged" narrative and potentially galvanize the opposition. Obviously though, there is a benefit to campaigning on it as well. Looks like Biden has made a decision on it.
It will be a tightrope act probably.
- Ignoring it will make it seem irrelevant and ignores the fact that the law also applies to people like trump.
- Leaning I to it too might indeed feed the "rigged" narrative. But also you should campaign on your own strengths not on the others weaknesses.
I'm with you, I was leaning toward him embracing it as well. It'll be interesting to see how the campaign walks that rope, especially with Trump's campaign throwing darts at him the whole time.
I just think the media in general should be less forgiving of trump. The man is a loon and a danger to society.
There in the Netherlands the media especially print also used the right wings popularity to sell more copies. Now the right is on power.. the VAT on print media is raised from 6 to 22 percent.. and they are all crying about it.
I have no sympathy for the print media people.. they contributed to this result and profited from the path to the result. They deserve this outcome.
The people who think it's rigged won't be affected by Biden at all. They thought it was rigged from the start.
Yes, of course, but there are degrees of engagement with politics. I still think this route is worth pursuing, but there will be a not insignificant number of his supporters turned from reluctant to passionate over this as they (incorrectly, stupidly) perceive it to be a governmental attack on their preferred candidate. Trump had his best fundraising day of this year the day of the conviction. There's a lot of political math behind whether you think it will galvanize Biden's supporters more or if you think it will increase reluctance for Trump with independents, both of which I think are true. I wouldn't fault someone for coming to either conclusion really and I think you would need harder polling numbers (that I'm sure Biden's team has) to really make an informed decision.
I’m going to laugh if Trump goes to jail and another man who looks just like him appears, days later, looking like his typical, aged, orange complected, obese, and broader shouldered self. I’d just love it if the older copy announces that younger relative was tried, convicted, and jailed by mistake, and that he, himself, still plans to run for president. No one believes blood gangs exist until you see two nearly identical, close relatives, in the same room as each other.
No one else thinks that Trump started looking noticeably different after about 2016? Maybe he just lost weight, huh? Maybe the width of his shoulders just decreased for no reason? Does he look less orange?
Seek therapy
I have actually successfully completed therapy. Are you familiar with gangs? Have you ever seen crime families where the sons and fathers all look nearly identical? The feds have dealt with plenty of blood gangs in organized crime families. It is typically very difficult to catch their members because they will often arrest one member who fits the exact description and picture of their target, only to have them fingerprinted and realize that the prints do not match.
If you don’t believe there are crime families that have nearly identical members, consider younger photos of Greg Scarpa, compared to pictures of his son, Greg Scarpa Jr., photographed at around the same age.

Why don’t you save the word “unhinged” for when you actually encounter someone who is out of control with regard to their emotions and posing a physical threat to your well being? If you can’t handle a discussion amongst adults in an online, semi-anonymous, forum, then you’re really too sensitive and should seek therapy for yourself. Are you going to be okay today, or do you need access to a therapy hotline?
