I was pretty addicted to league and my wife had to give me an ultimatum. It was affecting my sleep and work.

I haven't touched that crack in 8 months.

Fuck League, what a cancer of a game

They attacked gamers. Gamers.

This Charlie Kirk guy seems to be counter productive to the GOP.

So far, I've seen him antagonizing:

  • gamers
  • fathers, with healthy relationships with their daughers
  • possibly, healthy families as well
  • women, as in tradition
  • people of color

Not that I'm complaining...

Wow, the propagandists have fucking nothing huh? Seeing the bots and troll nets flounder like this is pathetic and fun to watch. Money down the drain for the fascist. You love to see it.

Genius. Gamers are such calm and quiet people and definitely not prone to loud retribution against people they hate. Legally, of course. No gamer has ever perpetuated violence against someone.

I love how they keep trying "no u" as their attempt to counter the weird label democrats have put on the MAGA crowd. Seems to be working great for them.

I can't keep my racists straight, is Charlie the one who picks boogers to the point of blood or is that Nick?

Anyway, I like video games. Looking to get a steam deck so I can sit with the wife.

Charlie is the one where you can't tell if he's got a giant head, a tiny face, or both.

Ah. Trying to switcheroo the weird insult to imply they aren't the weird ones. Clever girl.

I'd rather a politician be addicted to Dreamcast than cocaine.

[–] VinnyDaCat@lemmy.world 25 points 3 weeks ago (3 children)

I get what they were going for considering I've known certain people who have been so addicted to specific games that they've ruined their lives but I don't think Walz is in that crowd. He's still married, looks like he's a great father who's involved with his kids and is a more responsible and active politician than 90% of those in politics.

It's such a poor jab. Besides gaming being this mainstream hobby that everyone partakes of these days, there's also the fact that even if he was irresponsible, the youngest two of the voting generations would vibe with it. I know people who overspend their money or ignore reality entirely because they feel helpless. It's a symptom of a problem.

Poor guy couldn't stop gaming. Ruined his life. Ended up becoming a governor, and soon to be VP. CANCEL SEGA.

Bro, if the Dreamcast taught me anything it's that the world would be threatened by giant lizards anally pleasuring themselves via death-laser equipped space colonies far less often if we could get political figures capable of telling Sonic from Shadow.

Tim Walz has my support. Prevent Biolizards from threatening the planet!

[–] h3mlocke@lemm.ee 23 points 3 weeks ago

Poor Charlie never had a dweamcast... 😫

Omg he's literally me

[–] frezik@midwest.social 19 points 3 weeks ago (3 children)

I once heard someone arguing a similar thing back around 2010, and we already thought it was an odd thing to say. Why, yes, grown people do play video games, and certain mechanics are addictive no matter how old you are.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 17 points 3 weeks ago

It's just a very dated critique. Like calling someone satanic for collecting Magic Cards or implying they're a loser for spending a summer driving for Uber. Also just very... anti-fun. Same with the "How dare he lead a class trip to visit China!" What high school student body wouldn't have loved to go on a trip like that?

But, did she give it back?

[–] bender223 19 points 3 weeks ago

Maybe if he wins the election, he'll get it back 😜

[–] 2ugly2live@lemmy.world 15 points 3 weeks ago

Lmao they're trying so hard.

"I'm not weird, you're weird!"
