Breadtube if it didn't suck.

Post videos you genuinely enjoy and want to share, duh. Celebrate the diversity of interests shared by chapochatters by posting a deep dive into Venetian kelp farming, I dunno. Also media criticism, bite-sized versions of left-wing theory, all the stuff you expected. But I am curious about that kelp farming thing now that you mentioned it.

Low effort / spam videos might be removed, especially weeb content.

There is a cytube that you can paste videos into and watch with whoever happens to be around. It's open submission unless there's something important to commandeer it with at the time.

A weekly watch party happens every Saturday (Sunday down under), with video nominations Saturday-Monday, voting Monday-Thursday. See the pin for whatever stage it's currently in.

Extremely good Bad Empanada video. Yeah this dude can sometimes be a lot but literally every word in this video is absolutely spot on IMO, definitely should be used to dunk on "please bro just vote" libs.

I think the part I liked most (and found relevant given the people I know) was when he was calling out people who pretend like voting Kamala is a hard choice for them but enjoy memeing them or championing them all the time.

[–] LanyrdSkynrd@hexbear.net 16 points 2 months ago (2 children)

I liked this video, but I was surprised he lumped Hasan in with Vaush as fake radicals who always end up supporting Dems.

I don't watch much Hasan, is he telling people to vote blue?

[–] Kumikommunism@hexbear.net 25 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (2 children)

No, I don't know why BadEmpanada is spending so much energy hating on Hasan. He just keeps making up lies about Hasan, while simultaneously trying to act casual, like he doesn't care that much and that he's just "asking questions". It's really weird.

Hasan just got kicked out of the DNC and explicitly said it was due to his pro-Palestine position. And he's encouraging people to not support them while they are championing genocide.

[–] graymess@hexbear.net 22 points 2 months ago (3 children)

The video details what he was calling out Hasan for (in a whole 2 paragraphs of text up for half a second). Basically, Bad Empanada thinks Hasan is guilty of some light-hearted memeing of the Biden administration, which downplays the harm Democrats are committing.

Aaaand after typing that out, I think that's the last time I'll be sharing the latest beef between leftist Internet personalities. That's some shit I do not need to worry about.

I'm talking about this video which is literally just a cycle of BE making some shit up but stating it as a question, being shown to be wrong, and moving on to making another thing up. It's kinda embarrassing that he even uploaded this after it making him look so bad. And that paragraph kinda shows the problem. He's just incoherent, so he has to asterisk his point in the corner to actually get anything across, and it's very different from the actual content of the videos.

NOTE: I would not encourage anyone waste their time watching that video for some shitty streamer drama. But I post it purely for fact-checking purposes of people who have nothing better to do. I already wasted the time watching it and don't wish that upon others.

[–] Red_sun_in_the_sky@hexbear.net 4 points 2 months ago

Yeah its very weird.

Same as when he tried be the most contrarian about bushnell and say that american troops need not be celebrated or the only reason it got publicized was cause bushnell was a troop. Like damn, people in gaza recognized it, hamas and pflp made a statement, people in lebanon and yemen recognize it.

highly recommend ignoring the "live" channel

I have commented about this before but there's some people who really leave a distaste. Especially when they talk about things in a very disingenuous way. Yeah people made all the coconut jokes or whatever I don't think he ever downplayed what israel does or usa does.

Same with zei squirrel who also did this type of thing while back. I get that everybody is very deservedly angry but some people need to tone down. It just comes off as rabid. Like squirrel literally said "Hasan made jokes about kamala and thus he has been pretending to be anti genocide".

BE is pulling the same thing.

[–] graymess@hexbear.net 2 points 2 months ago

Yeah, I absolutely don't have any stake in this. I just happened to see the BE video yesterday and read his little statement.

[–] MerchantsOfMisery@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 months ago

BadEmpanada is the classic example of a man who thinks his shit doesn't stink and spends 95% of his time talking about how other peoples' shit stinks. The guy is a disgusting human being.

[–] Guamer@hexbear.net 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Jealous of his popularity is the energy I'm getting.

[–] MerchantsOfMisery@lemmy.ml 3 points 2 months ago

That's definitely it. BadEmpanada has major wannabe main character energy.

[–] space_comrade@hexbear.net 3 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

I liked this video, but I was surprised he lumped Hasan in with Vaush as fake radicals who always end up supporting Dems.

I don't think Hasan is fake but that scene when he shaked hands with Kirk and just let that obnoxious "kamala is brat" lady stick the sticker on him was extremely low energy soy behavior, he should step up that shit as a leftist public figure. I'm not saying he should be beating the shit out of them but refusing such interactions should be the least he should do IMO.

[–] bumpusoot@hexbear.net 11 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Empanada is not perfect, and holds some incorrect views. But when he's right he's good at making it clear.

[–] MerchantsOfMisery@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 months ago (2 children)

"Not perfect" is a weird way of describing a guy who proudly doxxes people he disagrees with and laughs when it results in them being harassed. This guy's a complete asshole and cult of personality has only enabled him to become more unhinged.

He gets a pass on CRAZY abusive behavior and it just blows my mind.

[–] CommanderCloon@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I mean that can be based depending on who he doxxes, IDC what happens to fash

[–] MerchantsOfMisery@lemmy.ml 4 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

BayArea was far from a fascist and this dumbass doxxed him. As a result. BayArea415 and his family received death threats, and BadEmpanada basically said "tough shit, he deserves it". It blows my mind that he gets a pass for this, but at the same time I shouldn't be too surprised because people are understandably hesitant about calling him out hard and then it resulting in BadEmpanada having you doxxed.

The fact is, he's a white privileged leftist with serious anger issues and he always seems to get a pass despite numerous red flags.

[–] space_comrade@hexbear.net 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Didn't know it was BadEmpanada that doxxed him, I always assumed it was some fash fucks. That's absolutely garbage behavior.

[–] MerchantsOfMisery@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 months ago

I always assumed it was some fash fucks

Given how unhinged and dangerous BadEmpanada can be, I'd argue you were right

[–] bumpusoot@hexbear.net 2 points 2 months ago

I mean fair enough then, I was entirely unaware of that happening. Please do add 'scary asshole' to my description if true.

[–] Aquilae@hexbear.net 4 points 2 months ago (2 children)

This guy is so confusing. Drops bangers sometimes, drops rage-bait the next. What is bro even trying to do

[–] MerchantsOfMisery@lemmy.ml 6 points 2 months ago

He's out of his mind. The guy accused me, a POC, of being a white supremacist because I called him out for going way overboard like doxxing people and their families including their kids. He also mocked women in America as privileged for wanting abortion access.

The guy's completely out to lunch and I can't take anything he says seriously because he's so disingenuous. He's abusive as fuck and weirdly proud of it, as are his core followers.

[–] Red_sun_in_the_sky@hexbear.net 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Also spouts baseless stuff as facts at times. Like saying there's chinese zionist movement, or anything about bangladesh recently. He is very disorienting.

Radical liberalism is a trip

[–] SLfgb@feddit.nl 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (3 children)

Anybody got a TLDR?

Edit: I just want to know, does he talk about third party candidates at all or just telling people to not vote at all?

Edit 2: please?

[–] frauddogg@lemmygrad.ml 6 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (4 children)

Anybody got a TLDR?

Low frequency activities. Near-zero vibration or resonance.

[–] D61@hexbear.net 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

BE's videos are wildly all over the place, nobody should be required to watch an entire video where it going to be something like a 50/50 chance that its light on analysis and heavy on rage bait and a waste of 15~120 minutes of your life.

You could have just as easily not responded.

[–] frauddogg@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

What the content is, who it's by, or how long it could be genuinely does not matter to me. To me, tl;dr requests are the sign of treat-brained laziness at best, and a desire to get someone else to do the thinking for whoever's requesting it at worst. No investigation, no right to speech.

[–] D61@hexbear.net 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Ah, I see you've read Mein Kamph multiple times to fully understand the nuance. owl-wink

No investigation, no right to speech.

Wrong application of this phrase. Not applicable in this context. The commenter was asking for a synopsis, they weren't making a bold proclamation about something they know nothing about.

Hell, me replying to their comment with "I refuse to watch the video..." and then giving my opinions would have been the place to quote Mao, not them asking for a condensed version by a comrade who spends more time in the BreadTube mines to give context that it would take multiple hours of video watching to fully grasp.

[–] Owl@hexbear.net 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

This is really uncalled for. The person is just asking for a summary of something.

[–] frauddogg@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)
[–] Owl@hexbear.net 0 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

Counter revolutionary. Unwilling to deal with the work of educating the masses.

[–] frauddogg@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

🙄

This is a shitposting site. Get out of your own ass. You cannot seriously fix your face to tell me you do any real educating here lmfao. And even you did, I don't recognize this guy; and as such, have no reason to trust in his good faith. My organization and educational efforts are saved for my people first; I don't know this randy.

[–] Owl@hexbear.net 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

Okay so what about being a shitposting site makes it okay to just go off on a random person asking for a summary?

You pulled out "no investigation no right to speak" when justifying your comment elsewhere in this thread. Make up your mind.

[–] frauddogg@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Because it's still asking for someone else to go to the trouble of engaging with something to regurgitate rather than doing it themselves. Maybe you don't have a problem with that, but I do on some level. Now if you want me to drop it, then drop it; that was the point of "If you say so".

[–] Owl@hexbear.net 1 points 2 months ago

I wanted you to acknowledge that arbitrarily going off on people is bad. "If you say so" does not show any sign of self-reflection or attempt at improvement. And neither does the rest of this conversation. Get out of my comm.

[–] SLfgb@feddit.nl 0 points 2 months ago

Umm... I don't follow.

[–] SLfgb@feddit.nl 1 points 2 months ago

I'm sorry I can't watch these type of edited fast-paced ramble videos. Give me a 1hr uncut but not this.

[–] D61@hexbear.net 3 points 2 months ago

I refuse to watch the video but if his past is anything to rely on, the answer to your question is, "No."

I would imagine that Bad Empanada (BE), if they spoke about 3rd party candidates, would describe any candidate in the USA presidential election as either a gleeful champion of the Israeli genocide of Palestinians or too weak politically/personally to fight against a system that is geared towards supporting the Israeli genocide of Palestinians. IF BE wanted to talk about third party candidates in the US elections... he's gonna be contrarian no matter what. He'll most likely choose to describe any third party candidates as willfully complicit in the genocide or that the candidate's anti-genocide rhetoric is completely hollow (because they have no power to change anything, they're just sheep dogging the anti-genocide voters into complacency, their just grifters, etc).

BE is not somebody you watch regularly for nuanced analysis.

[–] ziggurter@hexbear.net 1 points 2 months ago

Good video. Even has some edgy bits to REALLY annoy the libs. Perfect 5/7.
