The morning after his first presidential debate with Vice President Kamala Harris, former President Donald Trump turned to friendly territory by calling into Fox & Friends. But co-host Steve Doocy still had a question for Trump that he probably wouldn’t like: Did he hear about Taylor Swift endorsing Harris?

Almost immediately following the end of the debate on Tuesday, Swift posted her endorsement of Harris on Instagram, imploring her followers to do their own research and vote; she endorsed President Joe Biden in 2020. She also cited the faked AI images of her that she was supporting Trump, which Trump and his campaign shared.

She seems to always endorse a Democrat. And she’ll probably pay a price for it at the, in the marketplace.

Doubtful

Wiping her eyes with hundred dollar bills on her private jet.

I dunno man. She barely broke a billion dollars on the eras tour after Biden. Surely this will be the one to completely ruin her.

[–] mercano@lemmy.world 16 points 1 month ago

It doesn’t even matter. Even if Taylor Swift never makes another dollar, she’s still set for life.

Fucking clickbait title... He said she would pay IN THE MARKETPLACE. It makes it sound like he's actually threatening her.

If her MAGA fans don't like her endorsements that much, they would have stopped supporting her when she endorsed Biden last time.

Also, why do conservatives claim to hate cancel culture but embrace it when anyone opposes them?

[–] TexasDrunk@lemmy.world 52 points 1 month ago (1 children)

"That's a boycott, not cancelling someone! It's completely different!"

--Actual response I got to that question a few years ago.

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Was that their response about The ~~dixie~~ Chicks?

[–] Passerby6497@lemmy.world 15 points 1 month ago

"That was 20 years ago, who even remembers."

everyone on r/conservative are losing their tiny little minds trying to understand why Swift would endorse a candidate who is promising to take more taxes from her. it's like they literally can't comprehend being a decent person who cares about and supports her country and fellow human beings, so it MUST be a conspiracy.

[–] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 40 points 1 month ago

Besides, what's the point of having "fuck you" money if you never say "fuck you"?

[–] barsquid@lemmy.world 36 points 1 month ago (1 children)

These dimwits have so much information available about WWII and still cannot figure out why it is a bad idea electing a bigoted authoritarian wannabe who already did a little insurrection.

No, you misunderstand. Those dinwits want the US to turn into an authoritarian dictatorship

[–] ILikeBoobies@lemmy.ca 28 points 1 month ago (2 children)

I wouldn’t try to paint Swift as a decent person

But economically, the stability that Harris provides is better for the rich than the tax cuts Trump promises

And market predictions back that up

[–] Seasm0ke@lemmy.world 29 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Not a Swiftie by any means but I do remember hearing she paid out fat bonuses to every employee on her tour the other year and it made me think better of her

If Trump wants to start canceling musicians that don’t support him, then maybe he should stop playing all their music at his rallies

[–] kautau@lemmy.world 41 points 1 month ago

Or creating AI generated images of said artists pretending that they are supporting him

[–] innermeerkat@jlai.lu 7 points 1 month ago

You mean start paying?

[–] Burn_The_Right@lemmy.world 60 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

She seems to always endorse a Democrat. And she’ll probably pay a price for it at the, in the marketplace.

If she always does this, why would she "pay the price" this time and not the previous times?

Conservatives are not serious people. They are profoundly unintelligent, dangerous authoritarians who lack even basic humanity.

[–] Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world 58 points 1 month ago (5 children)

Trump: Well, I actually like Mrs., I actually like Mrs. Mahomes much better if you want to know the truth. She’s a big Trump fan. I was not a Taylor Swift, and it was just a question of time. She couldn’t, you couldn’t possibly endorse Biden. You look at Biden, you couldn’t possibly endorse him. But she’s a very liberal person. She seems to always endorse a Democrat. And she’ll probably pay a price for it at the, in the marketplace. But no, I like Brittany. I think Brittany is great. Brittany got a lot of news last week. She’s a big, she’s a big MAGA fan. That’s the one I like much better than Taylor Swift.

Ramble much?

[–] AreaKode@lemmy.world 28 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Hahaha! Now Mahomes is going to have to release a statement denying this, and very likely endorsing Harris in the process. This guy just cannot shut his mouth.

[–] themeatbridge@lemmy.world 38 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Not likely. Brittany Mahomes is a Maga moron and a shitty person.

Just wait till he realizes Biden is not running for president.

[–] Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago

And just wait until he realizes that Americans care more about Taylor Swift than one of her boyfriend’s exes.

[–] frezik@midwest.social 12 points 1 month ago

What's not to understand? He's not a Taylor Swift, and he still thinks he's running against Biden.

[–] NineMileTower@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago

Wait until Trump finds out she played soccer and calls her either gay or a Marxist because of it.

[–] gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works 48 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Lmao he’s gonna go after the swifties now? One of the most devoted fan bases of a musical artist of all time?

That’s a bold move, cotton. Let’s see how it plays out.

[–] ours@lemmy.world 24 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Could be worst. Like attacking a K Pop band.

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 20 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (2 children)

I would LOVE to see him attack BTS, and have to face the Swiftie Brigade combined with the BTS Stan Army.

They'd end up DDOSing both Twitter and Truth Social

[–] aniki@discuss.tchncs.de 10 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Most websites are not equipped to handle the crush of the k-pop stans. I've been on the receiving end of one professionally and it took down our entire environment before we ever had a chance to tell Cloudflare to buckle the fuck up.

She could lose 10 million listeners (she won't) and still have 85 million listeners on Spotify alone.

[–] irish_link@lemmy.world 33 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (2 children)

You’re right she won’t but more importantly this may actually cause a lot of kids to confront the “me vs parents” view they have lived with. (Edit - “me vs parents” = my views vs what my parents say and think)

My dad always says “this” about democrats and how republicans are right because of “that”.

This will hopefully cause people to think of Swift is endorsing her then I should look into why. There are plenty of people who don’t pay attention to politics not because they are intentionally absent from it, but because it’s just not in the realm of consciousness. This may change that.

I’m beginning to think the orange man is fucked. Everyone, find 5 people to go with you to the polls.

[–] Cadeillac@lemmy.world 26 points 1 month ago (2 children)

5 people to go with you to the polls

Rookie numbers. I heard some people are bringing in entire busses of immigrants to vote

Host: “they have Taylor Swift”

Trump: “oh yeah, we have the ex wife of someone she’s dated”

[–] Suavevillain@lemmy.world 24 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Trump really said she is going to lose the racist crowd for this lol. There isn't a day when he isn't attacking someone or making an excuse?

[–] gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works 16 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

To be perfectly honest I think she herself would chalk that up as a net win.

[–] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 20 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Her lawyers are probably better than his. And her money too.

[–] 14th_cylon@lemm.ee 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

And some of her money are now her lawyer's money, which is always good for your relationship with the lawyers...
