They had such an opportunity to mention that politician!
Thats too straight forward. On good onion articles youre the one who has to make the connection.
Hard times is a little too punk to give up on dunking on cops just to score points on some shit heel rep.
Headline reminds me of the Uvalde cops trying to stop the mom from going in to rescue her kids while they sat scared,
"Ma'am, ma'am! Leave them alone so I can not go in to rescue them, ma'am!!!"
Uvalde was certainly a clusterfuck, but the "cops scared" narrative isn't quite the truth, much more to it.

Don't just link dump without context of your claim please. Say what you mean to say, and then people can decide if they want to invest time to watch your linked video.
