Too soon.
Fat dog it.
It's not made up, it's not made up!
It's a bear dance!
I had no idea bears lived 400+ years.
you made me doubt but:
After the shocking death of 402, the unveiling of the 2024 bracket was delayed from Monday until 7 p.m. ET Tuesday.
they are naming them numbers
Some of them also have names. Chunk, Grazer, Otis, etc. Usually just the more popular or well-known bears though. 747 doesn't have a name though, because his number is an apt description.
If you couldn't tell, I'm very into Fat Bear Week - my office posts our brackets and we have a trophy for the winner.
How do you give the bear their trophy?
Very carefully.
How does a bear win?
Last one living
One of my workplaces likes fantasy football, so I've learned to play for free beer, however, this sounds wayyyy better.
What industry are you in that there is professional interest in Fat Bear Week?
Oh it's not professional, we just all like animals and most of my coworkers already play fantasy football, so this fits in.
Someone brings it up once and others like the idea. It's no different than how March Madness took over offices 20 years ago.
... Is there a fat bear week community on Lemmy? Can we do this? Is there enough interest to do this?
On first reading I breezed right past that, going "Sure, they're telling me the weights of the bears."
I thought it was their weight.
I can see why they would delay it. They want a fat bear and it's going to take him some time to eat his rival.
Breaking news. Bear event cancelled due to bears acting... Well like bears.
Does this mean 469 will be disqualified from the competition? Killing a competitor seems very unsportsmanlike.
Didn't 402 win a couple of years ago?
Yeah they did, it's in the article too
Being an entire bear being eaten alive by an entire bear must be awful.
I'm confused, wasn't this supposed to happen?
I don't think they're supposed to kill eachother
Is cannibalism common among bears?
Chunk looking girthy this year
I hate people so much. Did they expect bears to follow some kind of code?
Wtf am I getting down voted for?
I do. That code is: get fat, fuck, destroy all opposition
I think they have to remake the bracket now, so the delay
