Do the Palestinian people actually care if Harris or Trump is the American president?

Also I give my complete love and respect to the Palestinian people in their struggle against Israel. I have such deep admiration for Palestine and hope for liberation soon.

Stay safe Palestinian from Gaza. I pray there is a day you and your love ones don't have to worry about this insanity and can just live your lives fully.

What do you think of the western image of Hamas as religiously conservative islamists who wants to oppress women, LGBTQ people etc.?

Is there any internal opposition to the resistance inside Gaza? Is there people who wants to align themselves with the west and believe that some sort of deal can be worked out with the zionists?

[–] mahmoud@hexbear.net 18 points 1 day ago (4 children)

Throughout its life, Hamas has not oppressed women, and there are no gay people in Gaza , and everything that is said by the Zionist Western media is a lie. None of the Palestinians are against the resistance

[–] GarbageShoot@hexbear.net 16 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

there are no gay people in Gaza

Could you explain this further?

[–] mahmoud@hexbear.net 11 points 22 hours ago (2 children)

the number of gay people in Gaza is very small because most of the Palestinian people in Gaza are religious

[–] Lemmygradwontallowme@hexbear.net 10 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 22 hours ago) (1 children)

I mean, I guess religion needs to be some glimmer of hope, from the ravages of (Zionist) destruction

Pessimism of the mind, optimism of the will...

I read in this article that the founder of Hamas, Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, said that "Israel" will no longer exist by 2027 (I think the original clip of the interview is here). What do you think of his prediction?

not much to ask just here to say the +20k people here are with you, and if, instead of protesting in the streets we could fight with you, we wouldnt hesitate.

What kind of food do you eat day to day?

[–] mahmoud@hexbear.net 35 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I like to break my fast with thyme and Palestinian olive oil, one of the best types of oil in the world, and also with hummus and falafel. Most Palestinian people break their fast like this.

What are some of your favorite animals? and what are some of the things you like to do?

[–] mahmoud@hexbear.net 30 points 1 day ago (1 children)

My favorite animal is cats, and I like to play video games, especially FC, and I like to play soccer with my friends. A year ago, we did not play together, and many of them died

[–] Kolibri@hexbear.net 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Cats are very beautiful creatures. Since you like soccer, do you have a favorite soccer team? and what other video games have you played? I'm not familiar with FC. And I'm sorry for your loss, the zionists will pay for every death and pain they have caused

[–] mahmoud@hexbear.net 15 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Of course, Real Madrid, Spain, and I also love Juventus, Italy, since childhood. FC is a football game whose former name was FIFA. I also love the game Gall of Duty

Favorite TV Series and Movies ?

[–] mahmoud@hexbear.net 26 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I love Egyptian movies and my favorite series La casa de papel

[–] tamagotchicowboy@hexbear.net 9 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

Yea those soaps operas don't play.

Do you have any suggestions for Egyptian movies/music? Only one I know is the singer Hakim since a shop owner where I grew up would play his music.

[–] mahmoud@hexbear.net 6 points 22 hours ago

There is Umm Kulthum and Abdel Halim Hafez, they are the most famous singers in the history of Egypt, and there is a movie, Sons of Rizk, which is wonderful.

Good to hear from you Mahmoud! I hope this all ends soon ♥️🍉♥️
Do you have any books, poets or musicians you can recommend?

Also what is your favourite animal, if you have one?

And lastly, do you think protesting in other countries helps Palestine or palestinians? At times I feel it is only more... extreme actions that matter at all.

[–] mahmoud@hexbear.net 16 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yes, my favorite poet is the Palestinian Mahmoud Darwish. I love cats and I had a cat, but when I was displaced, I could not take it with me. Yes, I think demonstrations are very good for putting pressure on governments, especially Zionist governments.

[–] REgon@hexbear.net 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Thanks, I will go look for translations of Mahmoud Dawish. I am sorry to hear about your cat palestine-heart

You ever read Joe Sacco?

I was first introduced to the palestinian perspective through his graphic novel 'Palestine'

But I have

it's good and pretty accurate but you need to remember when it was written ,some stuff has changed since then

but it portrays the reality very well

I don't know him to be honest, but I will look for him now

I don’t have much money but I try to donate whatever I can to organizations that help Palestinians, usually UNRWA and the Palestine Childrens Relief Fund. Do know of any other organizations that do good work or that have helped out you and others?

[–] mahmoud@hexbear.net 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It is better to help people direct , better than charitable organizations, In order to provide their basic needs, there are other priorities that charitable organizations cannot provide. Also aid from charitable organizations most of the aid is similar

Your thoughts about the Hamas and the operation Al-Aqsa Flood?

[–] mahmoud@hexbear.net 28 points 1 day ago

Hamas is a Palestinian resistance and we must love them because they sacrificed themselves and their children for the sake of Palestine. I believe that the Al-Aqsa flood should have happened a long time ago because we have been living under a severe siege for 18 years and we were prohibited from operating an airport and port, and traveling through Egypt was difficult. Very, very humiliating that they are no different from Israel

[–] lnxtx@feddit.nl 11 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Does Gaza have a network of tunnels?

[–] mahmoud@hexbear.net 15 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yes, there are tunnels in Gaza

[–] mahmoud@hexbear.net 16 points 1 day ago (1 children)
