New Hampshire town of six splits ‘first in the nation’ vote between Harris, Trump

The six residents of Dixville Notch, who voted at midnight, were evenly split between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump — a reflection of the tight 2024 election.

Wikipedia

Dixville Notch, New Hampshire

Dixville Notch is an unincorporated community in Dixville township, Coos County, New Hampshire. [The village] is known for being the first place to declare its results during the New Hampshire presidential primary. It is located in the northern part of the state.

[...]

The [Midnight voting tradition] was first organized by prominent Dixville Notch resident Neil Tillotson (1898 – October 17, 2001), who was traditionally the first voter. He would reportedly hold his ballot over the ballot box while watching his wristwatch. At the moment of midnight, Tillotson would drop the ballot into the ballot box and the rest of the town's residents would follow suit. Since Tillotson's death from pneumonia in 2001 at the age of 102, the first voter has been chosen by random ballot beforehand.

In popular culture

The community's voting tradition received a nod in the 2002 third-season episode of US television program The West Wing, in an episode entitled "Hartsfield's Landing", named after a town modeled on either Dixville Notch, or its companion, Hart's Location.

Prominent... in a group of 6 people. Pretty sure everyone is "prominent" at that point.

There's a turbolib in a politics chat I'm in, he said the fact that it tied is a "good omen for the democrats" because "its four registered republicans and two independents". This dickhead has been copium posting non stop for weeks.

is a "good omen for the democrats"...

Damn it. I wish I had written that as a parody.

Ask him what he thinks of Kamala campaigning with Liz Fucking Cheney. I'll make a guess what they say.

"I think it was a savvy move because it helps her connect with republican women..."

I've given up on this guy completely. Apparently he's a fucking hard zionist too so there's really no point in discussing anything at all with him.
