Summary

Oklahoma’s Attorney General rejected State Education Superintendent Ryan Walters’ directive requiring schools to show a video announcing a new Department of Religious Freedom and Patriotism.

The video, which includes a prayer for Trump, was sent to schools and parents, but multiple districts have refused to comply.

The AG’s office called the mandate “unenforceable” and a violation of rights.

Walters, known for opposing “woke ideology,” also faces lawsuits over requiring Bible-based lesson plans and purchasing Trump-endorsed Bibles for classrooms, which critics argue breaches church-state separation.

requiring schools to show a video announcing a new Department of Religious Freedom and Patriotism.

The video, which includes a prayer for Trump,

Every day there’s something.

And we wonder why our young men are so lost... Indoctrinating kids in public schools. Fuck this fucking country.

Department of Religious Freedom and Patriotism

Jesus fucking Christ. I don’t know where to start.

[–] olympicyes@lemmy.world 21 points 12 hours ago

Start with the acronym. DrFAP.

500 bibles for $25,000? That's $50 per Bible that were 100% made in China for about $3 each. Someone report this to DOGE!

Those bibles probably cost less than $0.50 to make.

Always remember, and never forget... it's a cult.

[–] binary45@lemmy.world 1 points 25 minutes ago

The only difference between a cult and a religion is widespread acceptance.

The video, which includes a prayer for Trump

Fucking excuse me?

This has been their MO for years. A good documentary called "Jesus Camp" was made in like 04. It was about a children's religious summer camp. It ended with a bunch of children praying to a literal life sized cardboard cut out of W Bush. Those kids are like 30 now and likely have their own kids. They're just so fucking weird.

If memory serves right and nothing changed the kid with a mullet came out kinda OK.

[–] NatakuNox@lemmy.world 12 points 15 hours ago

Just like in north Korea...

[–] teawrecks@sopuli.xyz 2 points 13 hours ago

Must be a typo. That should say "to Trump".

[–] solsangraal@lemmy.zip 125 points 19 hours ago (4 children)

the party of "stop indoctrinating the kids" fixing to fucking brainwash the fuck out of the kids

[–] vanontom@lemmy.world 18 points 15 hours ago

Obligatory "every accusation is a confession" from the GOP ("Gaslight Obstruct Project").

[–] someguy3@lemmy.world 35 points 19 hours ago

They say "kids who are homeschooled are more likely to have their parents values" and then decry brainwashing in school.

[–] GBU_28@lemm.ee 16 points 17 hours ago

The thing is they see christian values as the default. As the historical, centuries old standard. It can't possibly be brainwashing to live to the values of your forefathers right?

So they see everything new as suspicious by default. And if it's new and counter to the historical values they espouse, it's deviant and "indoctrination" by new, inauthentic standards.

Obviously this is all bogus, but it's the dance they do.

Says the party of rapists

[–] garretble@lemmy.world 25 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

If you are curious about the stupid video, this is it. I reported it for misinformation.

This video is bizarre. There’s a ton of static noise, there’s computer clicking, and it stops before he even finishes the prayer! I thought this was a screen grab with a live mic but then I saw that it was posted by the OK DOE.

And now it goes to SCOTUS and SCOTUS declares this a Christian country and then all kids will be mandated to pray in school.

America is swirling around the bowl and heading down the pipe fast.

[–] eRac@lemmings.world 7 points 15 hours ago

It won't go to SCOTUS because the AG would have to defend it for it to go anywhere.

[–] MegaUltraChicken@lemmy.world 38 points 19 hours ago

And to be clear, the guy pushing this directive is possibly getting tapped to run the Department of Education. I am so fucking glad I didn't/won't have children. Sorry parents who voted against this.

[–] GlassHalfHopeful@lemmy.ca 18 points 17 hours ago

Please fight hard. Please win hard.

[–] Bonesince1997@lemmy.world 22 points 18 hours ago (2 children)

These stupid fucks hollering about wokeism and then ushering in the bible. I hope people see through this.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 45 minutes ago* (last edited 44 minutes ago)

Unfortunately, the collateral damage is the education and future of these kids. And ultimately, our own future, as entire generations of uneducated, misguided people (let's be real, in this situation: men) grow up and begin running the world.
