It’s not about bathrooms. It’s never been about bathrooms. It is only and will only ever be about hurting trans people for being “other”.

That's why this headline is funny.

Next thing you'll tell my "state's rights" had nothing to do with states or preserving rights. /s

[–] kameecoding@lemmy.world 9 points 2 weeks ago

When someone says State Rights, your response should be, "state's rights to do what?"

[–] dragonfucker@lemmy.nz 5 points 2 weeks ago

The civil war was about states' rights.

States' rights to not send escaped slaves back to their home states where slavery is legal. The South wanted to force the North to give return escaped slaves. The North said no, if they come here they're free. So the South started a war about it, because they didn't want the states to have the right to make their own decisions about slavery. The South wouldn't put up with any state supporting slaves who relocated to within its borders.

I am not bound by your limited imagination. Just because you disagree with me doesn’t mean you can just declare that I am “pro slavery.” That’s no better than declaring that people who are against the genocide in.m Gaza must suddenly be “antisemitic“.

If your position is so weak that you have to rely on flagrant lies and ridiculous falsehoods, then perhaps you should reassess your position. Mine is not your problem. And if you have to lie to make your point, it can’t be much of a point at all.

I see that I should have added an \s.

[–] curbstickle@lemmy.dbzer0.com 18 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I thought it was quite obvious, FWIW.

[–] SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org 9 points 2 weeks ago

Painfully so

[–] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 9 points 2 weeks ago

No, no you didn't.

Even "/s" wouldn't have prevented those replies.

[–] EleventhHour@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago

Fair enough

[–] kux@lemm.ee 1 points 2 weeks ago

there is never any reason to do so

[–] dragonfucker@lemmy.nz 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Mate, @henfredemars@infosec.pub was agreeing with you. There's no fight here, you're attacking ghosts.

What an appropriate username. Clearly, an enlightened individual.

Perhaps you should stick to your hobby instead of trolling other people’s conversations.

Don’t bother replying, because I’ve blocked you. Unless, of course, you’re only trolling for upvotes…

I’m just asking questions

[–] Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Is it even about trans people or is it about generating a moral panic about them that might result in the creation of a genitalia inspector profession that will oppress all women? For their safety, of course.

[–] EleventhHour@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

It’s definitely about trans people. Harming anyone else is just a fringe benefit.

[–] HappyFrog@lemmy.blahaj.zone 17 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Oh, there are absolutely people who have gender segregated bathrooms at home.

(is this real?)

[–] werefreeatlast@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

You got no idea what sort of things I do in my gender neutral restroom at home. Its only one thing and it's disgusting! Actually 2 things. No 3 different things. No wait, that would be between 4 and 10, possibly up to 20.
