It's best Christmas special ever.
I think we're going to have to agree to disagree. (But I do think Hogfather is a close second.)
Breadtube if it didn't suck.
Post videos you genuinely enjoy and want to share, duh. Celebrate the diversity of interests shared by chapochatters by posting a deep dive into Venetian kelp farming, I dunno. Also media criticism, bite-sized versions of left-wing theory, all the stuff you expected. But I am curious about that kelp farming thing now that you mentioned it.
Low effort / spam videos might be removed, especially weeb content.
There is a cytube that you can paste videos into and watch with whoever happens to be around. It's open submission unless there's something important to commandeer it with at the time.
A weekly watch party happens every Saturday (Sunday down under), with video nominations Saturday-Monday, voting Monday-Thursday. See the pin for whatever stage it's currently in.

This will always be my favorite because Michael Caine's performance is dead serious while the rest of the movie is Muppets.
Such a good adaptation..
Unlike The Watch -_-
Don't get me started on that one.
The recent series adaptation? I loved that one, I don't get why people get so mad about it. I really don't care for perfect fidelity of the material if it does interesting stuff with it tbh.
I really liked the bizarre setting they did, Fantasy London becomes A Medieval Sci fi city in the south african desert? Fantastic. Vimes running around dressed like a pirate with smoky eyeshadow? Great! I think though the whole story and writing was a mistake. Like even if you divorce it entirely from Discworld (which they should have done) its just not a very well written story.
The visual quality of set and costume design in general has been getting really fucking cool for a while now. But the writing attached to whatever adaptation they're butchering this year has rarely kept up with it.
Love the hogfather. They did teatime almost like I imagined him when I read it.
Apparently the actor was most inspred by Johnny Depp as willy Wonka. That says stuff about Johnny.
the only Discworld adaptation I like is Going Postal, fite me
death looks weird in this one
Definitely the one I'm most apt to show other people, but I like The Color of Magic for myself.
Wyrd Sisters is my problematic fave. The voices and designs have permanently altered how I imagine the characters. Unfortunately, like most Discworld adaptations, the pacing is ludicrous and the dialog is too faithful to the book, to the point where you can't actually follow what's going on unless you already know the story.
Didn't even know they did a movie version of going postal, I really like moist as a character.
It's one of my favorite Discworld books, and definitely my favorite of the live-action movies. Although I haven't gotten around to watching the recent BBC The Watch show, maybe that's better.

The only similarity to The Watch books is the names of various characters, most Discworld fans I've talked to about it disliked it.
I've personally got serious misgivings about how they didn't adapt any of the stuff going on with the dwarves and gender identity.

It's very odd right? Cheery's story was one of my favorite character arcs in all of Pratchett's books. I'm not sure exactly what they were aiming for, like alright cool casting a trans woman but the character doesn't have anything to do with the actual themes of gender identity from the books.
Ingots take my Christmas specials where I can get em
Love that movie. And it's very different from my Christmas Eve tradition of watching the Always Sunny episode where Charlie bites Santa.
I find the guy playing Teatime to be very annoying in his portrayal. I love the woman playing Susan she nails it. I much prefer the Going Postal special but I think it's just a better story in general.
If anyone has mid day Atlantic off in Christmas I'll cytube while waiting for the extended family dinner. Or really late Christmas night. I'm going straight from my parents to my place to drop off my gifts and then blasting off downtown for Nosferstu opening night. I'm fighting the war on Christmas on the side of Hogswatch!
thanks for the rec, threw this on!
edit: It's so good!!
