transitioned as minors, receive the benefits, never detransed thus showing it wasnt a problem, and then pull up the ladder and try to kill trans kids by capitulating to reactionary rhetoric via pickme shit

like jesus fucking christ grow a backbone you worms. you had your life handed to you on a platter, accepting parents, early transition, etc. so many people have to take their nose to a literal grindstone to feel comfortable in their bodies. in most countries only 5% of all parents say they will support their kid like this, let alone the number that actually do it. i have no respect for people that do not recognize how well off they are. and frankly, you never see centrist types like this in actual IRL trans spaces, it seems all the worms congregate online to gossip and bow to jk rowling and never try to help anyone

the whole hair thing is ridiculous too.

Really depressing to see members of oppressed groups thinking that they'll get to be "one of the good ones" no matter how many times their oppressors stab them in the back.

[–] LisaTrevor@hexbear.net 61 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (1 children)

honestly just depressing to read

also maybe give a cw for transphobia but idk I ain't the hexbear police

[–] Dirt_Owl@hexbear.net 43 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Yeah pick mes always make me feel bummed out. I feel bad for them.

[–] LisaTrevor@hexbear.net 41 points 4 days ago

it's just like, how tf can you type out "this clip is us having a normal conversation most women have had" and not see how this person you're prostrating yourself for will use literally anything as an excuse to hate you?

Please work with me fascist, please, pretty please. Please listen to me and consider me the same as you. Please. I want to be part of your system. I'm one of the good ones. I want to exist and I want you to deny my existence. I can help you achieve eliminating me if you just boost my subscribers.

[–] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 49 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (1 children)

Brianna Wu can eat shit, but it's funny seeing these fucking fascists trying to convince the hardliners that they're so much more special than the other trans people to their other fascist peers that hate their existence. Same kind of grovelling you see from that other fascist, Blair White or the lame duck Dave Rubin. Dave is especially pathetic.

[–] LeopardShepherd@hexbear.net 23 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Speaking of Rubin I'm reminded of that segment where he's talking to I think Ben Shabibo and Ben saying he wouldn't attend his wedding. Just so pathetic and sad watching him try to square that with himself in real time

[–] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 13 points 4 days ago (3 children)

Do you think there's some kind of denial or cognitive dissonance that allows them to ignore the fact that most of the people they associate with want them, or others like them dead? How do they live like that?

[–] barrbaric@hexbear.net 7 points 3 days ago

Large sums of money

[–] jack@hexbear.net 9 points 4 days ago

They just think that's the best they can possibly get, and that hopefully they'll be safe in the purges

Brianna's initial argument the the TERF is responding to is fucking dogshit anyway. You're a woman if you feel like a woman and say you're a woman. That's it.

This is like doing "women be shoppin'" in reverse.

[–] godlessworm@hexbear.net 20 points 4 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

“moderate trans positions” so its a bullshit liberal podcast hosted by privileged white wealthy trans women from progressive families that supported their transition early and now they want to kick the ladder out for the next generation of trans kids who need the care that this podcast is taking a “moderate trans position” against

okay cracker

[–] SexUnderSocialism@hexbear.net 41 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

[–] UmbraVivi@hexbear.net 26 points 4 days ago (1 children)
[–] Frivolous_Beatnik@hexbear.net 26 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Ocean, food, board games, hrt, and no internet just sounds like a good time.

[–] jack@hexbear.net 18 points 4 days ago (1 children)

It's not punishing them, but preventing them from being a threat to society

[–] Frivolous_Beatnik@hexbear.net 14 points 4 days ago

soviet-pout aww damn, why did we have to go with the non punitive justice system...

i hate that i feel like i got proven right, but man there's a reason why 'dolls' has always given me bad vibes and why I've hated seeing how popular the term has become in the community

why the fuck are we referring to ourselves with a term that already compromises to transphobes - no wonder people like this picked it up. It feels like an inherently reactionary term that's two steps away from just saying the slur.

apologies to anyone here who uses it, but i don't know if I'll ever be comfortable with it and I hope the slang passes out of the language soon

[–] 389aaa@hexbear.net 36 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (2 children)

I am the kind of person who uses the T-slur-that-this-website-won't-let-me-say to refer to myself a lot, and hang out primarily with other trans women who are of the same mind when it comes to slur reclamation - and yeah, even I see 'dolls' as Bad Vibes.

I feel like it's part of a weird cultural trend in recent years of transfems idealizing dependence. Imo, one can see this in the puppygirl thing, too, idk, it's all always given me bad vibes.

[–] yoink@hexbear.net 33 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

I think that's definitely a part of it - like, I personally don't use the slur but I can at least see the angle there, and part of that is that the T-slur itself is still transgressive to say in society.

'Dolls' on the other hand feels like a way to take away any bite from existing by taking the first punch ourselves, and I see it so often go hand in hand with other transfem self-degradation that feels more like public self-shaming than actually reclaiming something. I definitely agree with the 'dependence' vibes, and I can see how it's probably a reaction to the treatment of transfems in the general media, but it feels like a step backwards - like a section of us feels the need to 'sell out'. I really dislike that it's a thing, and that it gets so much play in the culture.

[–] kristina@hexbear.net 12 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

Some transfems like the archetype in misogynist media of 'a guy that solves all your problems'. Of course, this can put you in a dangerous dependent situation where the guy holds all the power given the social discrimination of transfems. A male suitor can be nice about this but its still a lopsided power dynamic and given how often guys are shit... its not something to idolize and it should be something to be healthily skeptical of. You should always strive to be independent for your own security even if its unnecessary. The highly submissive nature of transfem memes and discourse could just be airing kinks out, but there is definitely something underlying all of that, maybe a generalized fear of being seen as dominant because 'men are meant to be dominant'.

[–] EstraDoll@hexbear.net 33 points 4 days ago (1 children)

yeah I pretty much 100% agree with this even with this username

[–] 30_to_50_Feral_PAWGs@hexbear.net 14 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Yeah, but you also already registered "EstraDameWithBigGams" at the same time to be your eventual opsec cutover account

[–] EstraDoll@hexbear.net 15 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Pffft. Like I give half a shit about opsec. My opsec has been dogshit ever since logging into hexbear.net for the first time

[–] 30_to_50_Feral_PAWGs@hexbear.net 14 points 4 days ago (1 children)

anakin-padme-2 Which is why you still use chapo.chat to sign in, right?

[–] EstraDoll@hexbear.net 5 points 4 days ago (1 children)

/unbit what's the difference now? it takes me to the same website, right?

(Yes, they both point to the same place.)

[–] Hestia@hexbear.net 29 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Is there a term for class traitors except for transfolk? Cause that's what she is.

Worm, assimilationist, outsider (80s trans/queer thing for a trans/queer person that refuses to be seen with people from the community), pickme, sell out

[–] MoonElf@hexbear.net 37 points 4 days ago

that is just, fucking shocking to me, that an actual trans woman wrote all that out.

'weird' yourself, bitch.

[–] M68040@hexbear.net 42 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (1 children)

Loathing of sell-outs needs to re-enter the collective consciousness. (and the collective consciousness needs to be serious about it this time)

The incredible thing about Brianna Wu is that absolutely nobody likes Brianna Wu.

The conservatives pretending to be liberals hate her (https://www.reddit.com/r/BlockedAndReported/comments/1hj8v3h/brianna_wu_claims_her_conflict_with_jesse_is_due/)

The liberals pretending to be conservatives hate her: (red scare, etc)

Mr. Bortichelli's fans hate her: (https://www.reddit.com/r/Destiny/comments/1gqrcu1/wtf_happened_to_brianna_wu_new_piers_morgan_panel/)

The gamergaters hate her (obviously)

The people who live in eternal 2016 hate her

The closest thing to an ally she has is people who don't care about her in the slightest

One life philosophy I've had for the past decade is that chuds are 100% wrong on everything, and don't bother trying to woo them to your side, and don't compromise with them as they won't give anything back. I've yet to see a situation where this rule fails. (except for kids, but even that failing is exceedingly rare)

[–] LupineTroubles@hexbear.net 24 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Wasn't Rowling pretending to actually care about trans people and only have "some concerns" about children and vulnerable women at one point? This is just so petty and hateful to trans women just for existing and doing things.

One would think Brianna Wu and others like her who try to appeal to these terfs would realize the people they want to desperately be accepted by only grow more radical instead. I guess once you start digging yourself in to these bad positions you can't get out.

JK has lots of trans friends! They're always telling her about how afraid they are to stand up to trans people.
