Assuming you’re American I always hear those guys going on about the SRA if you wanna do self defence stuff
I've had these conversations with people I actually know, and I think the best you could do is isolate a group of "middle class" leftists away from recruiting ground while simultaneously still kinda relying on capitalist society.
Not that there isn't a romantic vision of it. But were you to become effective at whatever you were doing, you'd be raided pretty hard while isolated from any support
