A strange godlike being who traveled from the delta quadrant to test the mercy of humanity brings the Tuvix flower with him and spreads it aboard the enterprise. Most of them are vacuumed up by ensigns but one makes it into the teleporter when Scotty and Spock are transporting. Creating Scock. The rest of the episode is about convincing this new live form to call himself Spotty

It's actually a follow up for TNG, but I think there is potential in a movie about Q getting bored and making a star ship to explore space in staffed entirely by weird variations of Picard clones.

It could be called Qink

There are some fantastic comics inolving the tos mirror universe that take place in and were released between wrath of khan and search for spock that are retconned as hell by search for spock but they actually roll with it and work it into the plot. The marvel star trek comics from the 80s aren't too bad. They're kinda bad, but they're light fun that weages around whatever the movies decide happens oddly well

A lovingly and tastefully done remaster of TAS in the art style of Lower Decks.

Except they use AI to revoice everything because we cannot have nice things.

[–] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I'd go the other way and remake some lower decks episodes in the TAS style

This would also be cool and good. But it's too cool for CBS to let us have, so there has to be a monkey's paw aspect to it.

William Shatner insists on voicing all characters. No, fuck, that would be too funny.

It only gets shown once at SDCC, they collect all phones and cameras at the door, and it gets deleted after.

Mirror universe from the universe where the Borg have taken over the Federation and all that's left is scraps of the fleet.

Every episode opens assuring us the Borg have a plan but it becomes increasingly apparent the closer you get to season 5 that neither the Borg nor the showrunners had much of one

That would not only be cute but doable. Just surround a windup car with fuzz.

Unfortunately this is modern Trek, so it's the story of how some recycled original series character lost everything to their crippling gambling addiction by betting on tribble races.

[–] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 2 points 3 days ago

They can get a big moment with a character who says "starfleet...can be your second chance. I know. It was mine"

it took me a while to realize its supposed to be bad ideas so i scrapped my effortpost about a mirror universe romulan socialist republic in favor of a 'a 1:1 remake of the original finale'

Do the Futurama Welshy bit

But deadly serious

[–] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

That is literally the red shirt trope and it happens enough already to have the trope named after it

I meant more like Scotty not being able to keep up with the Enterprise's musical reviews because he can't yodel

[–] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

There is actually a post that episode of tng where Scotty comes back from the pattern buffer series of books thst are about the starfleet engineering corps that he establishes and each book is a bunch if short stories of engineering experts being called into different things. The stories are hit or miss but they're fun.

It's been a long time, but I devoured that series! It's not high art but in terms of Star Trek slop it was grade A.

Better than half of the random trek books I have that I've found at thrift stores and stuff
