Dunking is fun and all, but this again shows me how we are in the deepest echo chamber imaginable. The propaganda machine runs unimaginably deep, I can’t see this as good news in any way. Like the fact this garbage is being posted on some of the biggest sites in North America to hundreds of thousands of likes is not a good sign

Twitter is filled with mostly bots if that makes you feel any better. We see a lot of the loudest voices on social media that don't reflect the opinions of the general population. Many of these posts I suspect have fake upvotes.

Also the most popular post has 78k likes. Those are rookie numbers.

I've seen TikTokers talking about how great lesbian xiaohongshu is, so I assume not. But LGBTQ topics may have to be discussed in coded or indirect ways that Americans don't know. I'd assume it's best to lurk.

Different culture, different norms. Chinese haven't purged all of their homophobic brainworms for sure. A common take I've seen is "I don't care but don't fuck me ha ha ha" sometimes worse like "not in front of the children". They have work to do. At the same time it's worth noting that their homophobia is not identical to the Christian theocratic flavored stuff that is not just harmful but outright deadly.
