I'm really curious to see how he does. I can't imagine anybody liking this abrasive know-it-all quasi-billionaire who just spent the last few months suckling on the MAGA teat. Not to mention, he's probably not white enough for a lot of voters.

Rumor had it that Vivek had trouble getting along with people at DOGE, I would not be shocked if Elon is the one who caused the relational problems there. He doesn't handle getting challenged very well.

As a Vivek fan, I think he'd be far more useful as the governor of Ohio than as a leader of DOGE anyways. I hear that DOGE is generally toothless, so it does appear to be a kiddie table of sorts.

As a Vivek fan

Well, here's one.

I'm curious: what do you like about him?

[–] realcaseyrollins@thelemmy.club 0 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Many things. That he supports energy, the family, borders, limited government, opposes gender theory, entangling ourselves necessarily in international conflicts, etc. There's a lot to like. He's a true conservative in a way that many modern Republicans, including Trump, are not.

Thanks. We're really looking at the same guy then. But unlike you, he makes me physically sick.

What does "he supports energy [and] the family'" mean?

[–] realcaseyrollins@thelemmy.club 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

In supporting energy, one of his flagship policies was promoting domestic energy production. It's not a policy unique to Vivek, to be fair, but I like it.

In supporting the family, Vivek is a big fan of policies that increase parental rights and give parents flexibility when raising their children. For example, he supports school choice.

What kind of domestic energy are we talking about? Or does it not matter?

All kinds of energy AFAIK. At least oil, natural gas, and nuclear energy.

I'm a fan of him too. Very smart guy. Believes in hard work. And he worked hard for what he as. Overall, I think he's a great guy.

It's true. I think he has some good ideas. See, I don't judge someone just based on their party. I base it on what they do and their integrity. I'm a socialist, but I still think Vivek has some good ideas.

Thanks!

Agreed. I like Vivek, but he can do better than be on some advisory committee.
