The singer, who was hit by technical glitches that forced her to perform an acapella, was allegedly not thrilled about the issue, as well as how she was forced to perform, after initially sparking backlash over the performance and allegedly not “caring” about the hate.

The 41-year-old allegedly felt slighted because past performers at inaugurations for Joe Biden and Barack Obama, like Beyonce and Lady Gaga, have been afforded such luxuries.

“Carrie was dissatisfied with her performance at the event, primarily due to the limited space she was given, which left her feeling cramped and uncomfortable,” the source told the publication.

Maybe she's just a Chud and did it on her own, but the trump kompromat angle makes sense as well:

  1. She performs the Sunday night football song in a short dress and she's younger and blond - so there's a chance trump saw her and paid attention (because he's a rapist that likes girls with features similar to his daughter).

  2. He probably asked his sycophants to get her for the inauguration or a rally or some stop on the garbage parade, have to assume she said no at first realizing the career backlash, if anything.

  3. They scramble to find leverage, she was on American Idol, which is a former fox show (Murdoch) and a current ABC show (ABC being the complicit mainstream network to first bend the knee HARD recently, preemptively settling trump's defamation lawsuit against them with a huge multi million dollar payoff).

  4. So between all of that, someone has the leverage against one of those remaining producers to get them to offer underwood the replacement "judge" job on American Idol, with the condition that she support trump publicly.

  5. She was announced as a judge on American Idol.

  6. She performs at the inauguration.

  7. American Idol producers make public statements about fear of a backlash boycott, but say they won't do anything about her.

  8. The purposefully convoluted threat of a boycott fuels fox and others , along with the fully complicit social media networks, to push a counter boycott - meaning all of the Braindead maga folks without anymore rallys to attend should now go HARD for American Idol, buy merch, etc.

  9. Get now loyal viewers to send in their underpants as tribute. Collect all those underpants.

  10. ???

  11. Profit

This woman is such a "literally who?" that I geniunely got her mixed up with Carrie Fisher and wrote articles about her attendance at the inauguration off as fake news. Because well, she's dead.

[–] joenforcer@midwest.social 10 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

Do you live under a rock? She's possibly the most popular female country singer (after Dolly Parton) and the 2nd most well-known American Idol winner (after Kelly Clarkson).

I mean, she's dead to me along with Snoop Dogg after all of this but by no means is she a nobody.

[–] zalgotext@sh.itjust.works 7 points 4 hours ago

Ehhhh, American Idol winners are famous for falling off the face of the earth (do you know any other winners offhand besides Carrie and Kelly?), so I don't blame people for not knowing her from that.

I think it's also a stretch to say she's the most (or second most) popular female country singer. Country as a genre is becoming less and less popular, being replaced by pop/hip-hop/rap for young people. I feel like Carrie Underwood was most popular amongst the subset of elder millennials that still listened to country or who happened to catch her hits on pop radio, but Gen Xers and Boomers are probably more familiar with Reba McIntire, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, etc, and zoomers and Gen alpha are too busy listening to literally any other genre than country to know who any of those people are.

It’s playing a bass or cello methinks

[–] PM_Your_Nudes_Please@lemmy.world 2 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

Hard to tell. It doesn’t have the shoulder brace that many violins have, but it also doesn’t seem to have the floor spike that a cello or bass would. That spot near the “bottom” may be for a spike, but it’s hard to tell since there is a leg in the way. The neck length points more towards a double bass, (they tend to have a larger body and shorter neck) but that could also just be due to the perspective.

[–] ICastFist@programming.dev 3 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

That's a huge violin. Or a very tiny micro gnome

[–] Lemminary@lemmy.world 1 points 8 hours ago

Nope, those are my huge fucking hands.

[–] ThomasCrappersGhost@feddit.uk 8 points 8 hours ago

lol. Complete child.

[–] modus@lemmy.world 41 points 11 hours ago

“She felt like she was literally just in a room with people all around her and a microphone.”

Uhhh... Yeah, that's what she's paid to do.

[–] Blackmist@feddit.uk 2 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

I've just realised I have no idea who Carrie Underwood is.

I saw her name on the guestlist, but it's only seeing her described as a singer that I realised that it wasn't Sara Jean Underwood, Playmate of the month a good couple of years ago.

I just assumed he'd invited another porn star to his party and thought nothing more of it. Which says a lot about how surprising I find odd things about Trump...

[–] andros_rex@lemmy.world 6 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

American Idol winner, she did “Before He Cheats” which was on repeat on essentially every radio station in Texas and Oklahoma for two years. You could change the station and it would be on the next one. Obnoxious stupid song.

[–] futatorius@lemm.ee 3 points 5 hours ago

Ah, another ex-talent-show nonentity purveying dreck to those who can't tell slime from music.

[–] 5in1k@lemm.ee 32 points 14 hours ago

Whatever bitch. This is what you asked for.

[–] aesthelete@lemmy.world 53 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Eat a dick, Carrie. Also, your Sunday night football song is fucking trash.

[–] SupraMario@lemmy.world 12 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Bring back Pink, was much more gritty...new shit with a country twang sucks ass...and underwood can go take a leap.

[–] wheeldawg@sh.itjust.works 1 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago) (1 children)

I'd watch the TikTok of that. But she has to do a backflip.

[–] futatorius@lemm.ee 1 points 5 hours ago

Does she have to take you to her room to perform the flag salute?

[–] synae@lemmy.sdf.org 73 points 19 hours ago (1 children)
[–] nova_ad_vitum@lemmy.ca 28 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

...why does she make me feel things?

[–] mPony@lemmy.world 21 points 13 hours ago

because that person is a professional actress with more talent in her little finger than most hacks have in their entire family .

[–] jaggedrobotpubes@lemmy.world 47 points 19 hours ago

She went out of her way to be an extremely shitty person.

She got off easy.

[–] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world 76 points 21 hours ago

eat shit Carrie.

you play at shitty gigs, you get shitty gigs.

[–] whostosay@lemmy.world 23 points 17 hours ago

Oh no, I have no empathy for this

[–] Sterile_Technique@lemmy.world 39 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

KKKarrie is a traitor, both to the US and to humanity as a whole. I don't give a fuck what she's feeling. The world will become a slightly better place when she stops stealing its oxygen.

[–] wheeldawg@sh.itjust.works 0 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Damn, I feel vaguely like this toward anyone who even just doesn't absolutely hate the country genre as a whole, but what'd she do specifically?

[–] Sterile_Technique@lemmy.world 3 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah there's something like 0% chance you're posting in good faith, but juuuust incase you fall into a rounding error...

You ever heard the expression 'If a Nazi sits at a table with 9 people and no one objects, there are 10 Nazis at that table.'?

Not only did she enthusiastically join that table, she got up onto it and danced for the fuckers. She's a Nazi.

Same with Snoop Dogg and every other artist/entertainer/organization/media outlet/individual citizen who decides to advance the increasingly popular Nazi agenda.

[–] wheeldawg@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 hour ago

No I know about yesterday, but it sounded like I was missing previous context. I don't really know anything about her except for the fact she does country music.

I wasn't trying to say showing up yesterday wasn't gross and all. I just wondered about before.

Just ignore the leopard in the room.

[–] cybersin@lemm.ee 1 points 2 hours ago

Believe it or not, some people are capable of acknowledging more than one news story per week.

[–] MajorHavoc@programming.dev 47 points 21 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago)

She felt like she was literally just in a room with people all around her and a microphone.

It's hard not to read this as a power play when she was being paid by someone known for memorably misogynist statements, and for needing to go to court against his own sex worker.

I'm inclined to infer that the worst creep factors of old rich American men may have poisoned the vibe in the room.

And yeah, all statements about leopards and faces and knowing better apply here.

I assume Carrie can afford to choose clients carefully. I hope this gives her pause to take stock, and that she moves on to wiser choices.

[–] JoMiran@lemmy.ml 30 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Fuck her and Snoop Eat-A-Double-Dick Dogg.

Wow, where did all those $1 million donations go that they couldn't afford to give Carrie Underwood (checks notes) a stage.

[–] TehWorld@lemmy.world 5 points 9 hours ago

Hot take there. I remember hearing of a lot of donations, and you can be sure that a pretty large sum was to be spent on things like crowd control, portapotties, and the overall staging that just didn't need to happen since President Musk and VP Trump didn't want to get chilly. I wonder where those funds went?

[–] pubquiz@lemmy.world 97 points 1 day ago

Lie down with dogs; get up with fleas. Or brainworms. Or fuck her and her career for sinking to the Kidrock-level of skell. Hahahahaha.

[–] Linktank 51 points 23 hours ago

Get fucked. Sucks to suck, asshole.

[–] unemployedclaquer@sopuli.xyz 18 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

whatever. the only source is "an insider" speaking to the daily fucking mail. this is trash.

[–] wheeldawg@sh.itjust.works 3 points 7 hours ago

I don't know much about her, but people seem to believe it because I guess it's kinda in character for her.

But you bring up a good point.
