It really exposed that the US does not have any sort of tech superiority over China. Turns out a small team in China is able to leapfrog the entire AI industry in the US with thousands of engineers. It's a national embarrassment for the US, and it clearly shows that there is no way to hold China back. It's a bigger country, with a better educated population, and where the government directs labor towards productive efforts. The US will be left in the dust in the coming years.
Who knew the private sector competing against itself would produce worse results at a higher cost than a well-funded public sector not out to make a profit?

I feel like I've been reading headlines for the last 20 years that China's economy is just about to collapse
