Lots of negativity here. “Well, that’s not going to work.” It has to start somewhere.

Honestly, not the best time in US history to be making guns harder to get.
"Bans ARs" but specifically exempts the Ruger Mini-14. 😂
Guns will just be stolen in other states and sold by criminal to CO. It's great move for people pursuing a career in crime.
Bought from border town 'gun shows' and smuggled, just like they are now.
It's the same way I buy fireworks.
Looks like Colorado is about to see slightly more shooters employing the New York Reload where they can't get their hands on banned guns.
Or buy out of state. Seems like enough of these crazies don't have long term plans after the shooting, so another charge for the transport on top of the multiple murders isn't likely to dissuade them much.
it's still a hurdle.
It's really not much of one, Colorado isn't a big state. All this really means is more profit for the return trips of smugglers running weed to the adjacent red states.
Pretty sure you can't take guns across state lines. This would also make them illegal in the state if you brought them. Not sure why you think we can only have perfect laws. Because we really don't.
I did mention "smugglers", right?
What if they go out of state to make the purchase? Is that illegal in the eyes of CO?
so then they'll get pulled over for weed when crossing into wyoming and pulled over for guns on the way back
Yes, the law covers the importation of prohibited items. The only exception being for arms that were already legally owned in the state prior to the law.
