I remember when I had windows 7 that updates were ongoing until like....what, Windows 10 was out? In between 7 and 10 was windows 8 and that was terrible. I was hoping to hold onto 10 until 12 was out and that 12 would be better, but 10 is going to stop being updated in October and there's no sign of 12 coming any time soon (and no guarantee it'll be better than 11 to be honest).
I recall windows 98 was great (or windows 98 second edition), windows 2000 was terrible, and then windows XP dropped and that was fantastic again. I was thinking maybe we'd see the same pattern here, but apparently it's still too soon. I really don't want to switch to windows 11 (and don't anyone suggest Linux) but I may have to; additionally my current PC is apparently also not able to meet hardware requirements for 11 (which seems impossible; it's thankfully fairly decked out in the best stuff money could buy in 2016, which should still be powerful) so I'll have to get a new PC or a custom build a new one (I would rather a custom job to be honest).
And then of course you have to go through the steps to turn off as much of the crappy spyware they have going on in windows 11 too. This is genuinely going to suck.
