Deepfakes were always one of the scariest parts of modern technology. "Freedom of the press is the privilege of those who own one", and all that follows from this.

I fear that the only durable solution is for the technological tower to collapse such that it is no longer possible to gather the amount of energy and rare metals required to run generative AI. Maybe it's a part of me that just wants the internet from the 2000s back, but I think there's a lot we could do for everyone's quality of life if the profit motive was no longer able to be applied to information technology.

I think it’s an event the zios have every year, but because of the holocaust in Gaza allegedly there was a much larger turnout.

Do you notice anything weird about this photo? At first glance, no of course not.

Look closer.

Look at the telephone polls. The street lights. The traffic signal lights. None of it makes any sense.

Ai deep fake / generated images have already been used by the ruling class, to support a fucking genocide no less. And almost a year later it’s still online on their website.

when your propaganda is AI slop. reminds me an operation the CIA or state department did where they allegedly hacked a police station or prison ??? in Xinjiang and had photos of the people there and one of them was Andy Lau.

There was another operation where they created a fake CPC document which had all sorts of weird grammar errors.

Idk I feel technology will be the one thing to persist. Countries may be submerged, hospitals, food, clean water etc may all become fucked, but somewhere in the world technology will develop and persist.

Nuclear winter is the only thing threatening technology and even then it probably just stops for a while and once the ruling class gets out of their silos the same shit continues.

Maybe I'm just being an arsonist but I think the "post-truth" paradigm might get enough to people realise that simply telling the truth doesn't do anything because liberal capitalist regimes don't actually care. The number of smart left leaning people getting caught in the the Goebbels big lie trap is astounding. We should not be trying too hard to prove our point and just use our knowledge of the truth for revolutionary action. Maybe deepfakes will make them give up debating and start organising
