A screenshot of a tweet from @zumo_zd, which reads "I like it when this happens". The attached image is a drawn mock-up of an IMDb-style page of "Popular Voice Actor Man, known for Lord Darkness Edgeman from Blood Dying and Screaming". On his list of roles, this casting is listed, but he is also listed as voicing "Fish" from "Adventures of little fish in bowl". End transcription.

Jim Cummings voiced both Winnie the Pooh and the Master in Fallout.

[–] _stranger_@lemmy.world 32 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Jim Cummings voiced literally everyone from every show ever. That's cheating.

[–] GraniteM@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Every character voiced by Jim Cummings vs. Every character voiced by Frank Welker, no holds barred, go!

[–] _stranger_@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

This fight comes down to Dr. Eggman vs Megatron.

I'd pay to see that.

It ends with a debate on if minion counts as a roboticized animal.

That's like listing all the games that have David Bowie or characters just like him

Infamously Mark Hamill: Luke Skywalker and The Joker

[–] GFGJewbacca@lemm.ee 15 points 1 year ago

That dude is everywhere. Yes, he became iconic for his Joker voice in Batman: The Animated Series, but my god he's in so much TV. He was hilarious for his brief appearance in "What We Do in the Shadows," and he killed it in Adventure Time. I mean seriously, look at his IMDB page.

[–] massive_bereavement@kbin.social 11 points 1 year ago (1 children)

And he was fantastic in The Fall of the House of Usher.

[–] Mail92@lemm.ee 3 points 1 year ago

Didnt occur to me until right now that was him! Really blended into the role.

One of my favorite examples of this is Charles Martinet, longtime voice of Mario (and Luigi, Wario, and Waluigi), is also the voice of the legendary dragon Paarthurnax in Skyrim.

Yeah, he voices both of them. The image linked is even from Gianni's NSFW account.

i guess you learn something new everyday. didnt know gianni did that

I know the left one is from Overwatch, what is the right one?

[–] ICastFist@programming.dev 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I think the one on the left is Ultrakill, no idea about the one on the right, tho

I looked up the VA's website and none of the projects it lists him in have anything even remotely close to that.

I took one for the team and put "anthro heat" in my search history -- no such luck. There is a steam game that is literally called Anthro Heat (you have one guess what it's about) but that synth character does not appear to be in it.

The search continues

EDIT: nvm it is from that. I can definitely see the guy not wanting to put on his resume that he worked on aVR porn game

Have you seen his NSFW profile, tho? @wetgiani?

Thank you! :3

Motherfucking Stephan Weyte. Best known for voicing characters like Caleb in Blood, Minos Prime in ULTRAKILL, and Nyarlathotep in Dusk, as well as a number of characters in Freddi Fish and Pajama Sam.

Alan tudyk?

Andy serkis?

That one guy who does a shitload of videogames and anime dubs whose name always escapes me?

[–] mySFWaccount@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 year ago

Alan Tudyk was my first thought too.

[–] Kepion@lemm.ee 4 points 1 year ago

Quite a few of them but Tom Kenny is one of the best

Steve Blum (bloom?) or my guy Nolan North?

[–] bpm@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Clancy Brown does Lex Luthor for DC and Mr. Krabs from Spongebob.

[–] Mirshe@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

And like 40 other characters from every piece of media ever. He was Long Feng in Avatar (there is no war in Ba Sing Se), he was Rawhide in Buckaroo Banzai, Parallax, Taskmaster, Surtur (from Thor: Ragnarok), Sergeant Zim (the DI) in Starship Troopers...

The only thing I've seen Andy Serkis use his actual face in was Andor, and he was amazing.

In Brazil, Goku, Jackie Chan (from the Jackie Chan Adventures cartoon), Spongebob and Simon (Alvin and the Chipmunks movies) are all voiced by the same man, Wendel Bezerra

Another big VA here, Guilherme Briggs, voices Superman (all cartoon versions since the 90s), Buzz Lightyear, Optimus Prime (movies), as well as Cosmo (Fairly Odd Parents), King Julien and Eduardo (Foster's Home)

Jorgeh Ramos is another interesting case. He voiced Huckleberry Hound (Dom Pixote) in the 70s. Later on, he was the voice of The Terminator (1985 film) Jaffar, Scar (Lion King), Rasputin (Anastasia) and a load of other villains.

[–] Pajama@lemmy.world 14 points 1 year ago

I was shocked to learn that Samurai Jack, and Bolbi from Jimmy Nuetron shared the same voice actor.

Prime example, Scott adsit voice baymax from big hero six, one of the most wholesome characters to have ever existed, and clay Pinkerton from moral oral, a raging alcoholic father who denies he is responsible fir anything bad happening, including shooting his own son in the leg.

Takehito Koyasu as Dio Brando from JoJo and also Excalibur from Soul Eater

[–] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 year ago

Carrol Spinney: Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch

Ah feck, the desire to do voice training and the associated anxiety go brrrrr

[–] unmarketableplushie@pawb.social 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yeah, it's pretty daunting. I can do it alright but actually getting into the voice is the hard part, if that makes sense.

[–] SnappDragon10 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yea makes sense. I'm having a rough time taking a step towards it overall.

I'm sorry to hear that. I wish you nothing but luck and happiness.

[–] Riftinducer@aussie.zone 4 points 1 year ago

I liked that Mike Patton voiced both the Darkness and also the Anger Sphere from Portal. Horrifying mass of snakes, blades and tentacles, then a harmless orb.

[–] ChicoSuave@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Eric Bauza definitely needs recognition here.
