Nope. About to head out on my bike. My new bell arrived today and I need to give it some real-world testing.

I'm glad you're taking rest days. You can do a little movement of your muscles as a treat. Like walking somewhere cool/a park or something that gets the heart rate up a little and gets you to touch-grass

Lmk if you need any other unsolicited advice

I WISH YOU WOULDN'T BUT WHATEVER, COMRADE

I'm gonna be lugging about 20 lbs of gubbins over to my friend's house so we can play Pathfinder

Should be enough to get the old squeezebox a-thumpin

I decided a long time ago that my construction job counts as working out so yeah I did, it's the weekend

you should stretch on the weekends

edit: a lot

[–] Acute_Engles@hexbear.net 7 points 1 week ago

No cardio . Just weights. Im to lazy for cardio doggirl-cry

[–] graymess@hexbear.net 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I can zone out and do cardio, but I don't have the discipline for weights.

[–] Cysioland@lemmygrad.ml 8 points 1 week ago

Same. I can run a lot, just put on something on the phone and go, but weights are not my thing

knees hurt too much to do anything but swim, depression is incompatible with monthly fees

I went for a long walk! There were hills and stairs and everything. Not much, but when recovering from a disabling illness it's a start!

I run 5 days a week, and normally on my 2 days off my gf gets me doing something equally intense like hiking, kayaking or rock climbing. I do between 100-150 pushups a day and other bits of exercise here and there. I'm the fittest I've ever been, honestly. When I'm done travelling I'd like to take up some form of self defence, so I at least know how to throw a punch or whatever.

[–] WizardOfLoneliness@hexbear.net 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah but i deserve a day of rest and I still did my fucked up stretching routine where i'm basically using my kitchen counters to blast open my hips. I can kick you in the face

Sounds like a Jean Claude Van Damme reference. disgost

No actually that's pretty much what i'm doing but i'm not even close to a 180 degree angle

Cardio is hard for me, I have ridiculously bad knees and ankles, but I do exercise at least once a week, and practice martial arts. I’d recommend everyone to practice an art, doesn’t really matter which one, the mental and physical benefits are pretty undeniable, though you have to watch out for chuds, they’re very prevalent in the scene. Bonus though, you get to beat up those chuds in sparring, which is very satisfying. Can be a good way to practice radicalizing chuds too, they usually have their hearts in the right place, just absolutely stupefied by decades of imperial propaganda.

bulgarian split squats count as cardio right

Sinus infection. Little dingy illnesses have been causing havoc for me lately

It came on light a lightning bolt and it seems like it's leaving just as quickly. It is almost certainly viral and if I read the tea leaves correctly, I have some adaptive immunity. It's going away faster than normal, so I'm hoping to be well just in time to be miserable for the weekend.

[–] sharkfucker420@lemmy.ml 6 points 1 week ago

I just woke up and I an hung over. Yes I skipped cardio

[–] AssortedBiscuits@hexbear.net 6 points 1 week ago

I try to jog a mile every day.

[–] GoodGuyWithACat@hexbear.net 6 points 1 week ago

No :( I walked in the park for 45 minutes

[–] OgdenTO@hexbear.net 4 points 1 week ago

Just got back from a (short) run. I'm working on getting back into regular workouts after a few years of very little. I'm already feeling the results after a couple of months. It's great!

[–] Assian_Candor@hexbear.net 4 points 1 week ago

I'm doing the thing where I'm not working out because I am afraid of seeing how much progress I lost bc I stopped working out

I've only been a handful of times in like the last year 😭

[–] thisismyrealname@hexbear.net 2 points 1 week ago

i started working construction thursday and got food poisoning last night so no

[–] SpiderFarmer@hexbear.net 2 points 1 week ago

Been biking every other day and slowly making it to my running goal of a comfortable 8 miles.

I love cardio, but don't understand how people can lift weights. That shit is boring.
