Works better with shredded coconut on top.

Easy there, Satan.

[-] ivanafterall@kbin.social 22 points 7 months ago

Toasted to a golden brown.

If you wanted something more fun and less gross, put one or two pieces of skittles or whatever candy, and see who gets it.

There's a classic French traditional cake with a coin hidden in it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_cake -- at least my local variation uses a coin rather than a bean or figurine.

[-] makyo@lemmy.world 16 points 7 months ago

Was that tradition started by dentists

[-] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 6 points 7 months ago

I was going to say... replace "toenail" with "plastic baby" and you've just described a marti gras tradition.

[-] troyunrau@lemmy.ca 1 points 7 months ago

I blame the Romans.

[-] ridethisbike@lemmy.world 6 points 7 months ago

Nah.... The jacked up jelly beans... Like the ones that taste like farts. Use those instead.

[-] Rentlar@lemmy.ca 3 points 7 months ago

I like this. Edible and safe but will taste hilariously bad.

[-] daemoz@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago

Not that anyone asked but If you like short stories Tolkien wrote one called the Smith of Wootton Major about a magic cake bauble.

"Hello Jimmy. Before you sits a home-made cake. To your left, there are party-goers, waiting for their cake. To your right, there is a trash can. You can feed the guests the cake, but there is a chance they will get the toenail. If you throw the cake away, you will never be invited to the family gathering ever again. Choose carefully."

[-] ridethisbike@lemmy.world 11 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago)

Bro forget the cake, you're not getting invited to a family gathering again because you don't know the difference between there, their, and they're.

Edit: he fixed them! Kudos to the other commenter for explaining it! He is better than me

[-] Pregnenolone@lemmy.world 5 points 7 months ago

Four chances to get it right and all were wrong. I wouldn’t be so quick to point it out but that was impressive

[-] ridethisbike@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago

Honestly that's the only reason I said anything. If would have just been one or two I would have left it alone... But four and otherwise perfect English? Had to be done.

[-] ghterve@lemmy.world 10 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago)

Please take a moment:

They're - they are (the ' replaces the space and the a)

Their - belongs to them

There - not here

[-] RIP_Cheems@lemmy.world 4 points 7 months ago

Thanks for explaining. I went and fixed it.

[-] ExtraMedicated@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago

On the one hand, I'd get to feed people toenails. On the other hand, I don't want to go to family gatherings.

[-] tubaruco@lemm.ee 2 points 7 months ago

wow ifeel like godzilla

[-] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 5 points 7 months ago

How about I just let you know when it comes out

[-] NegativeLookBehind@kbin.social 5 points 7 months ago
[-] Alexstarfire@lemmy.world 3 points 7 months ago

Easy, it's on my toe.
