Just ear piercings atm, but once I've got a stable income I'd like to get more piercings and tattoos.

I'm 35 (M) and recently got one ear pierced and my first tattoo. I should have done this way sooner, I feel much more like myself now.
Tattoo is an image of a vintage boxer, but it's a girl instead of a guy with a moustache. I mostly just think it looks nice, but I also like the "Don't fck with this chick"-vibe of it.
It is true what they say though, I'm constantly planning next tattoos now.
Just one tattoo. I got it at 20 about a year after my dad passed away. It's an homage to the only tattoo my dad had throughout my childhood, which was a bird on his arm. I got it done by an old friend of his, who owned a tattoo shop. He free-handed it off of a grainy, faded photograph that I pulled out of an old photo album. He did a fantastic job; it's a 1:1 replica.
It's faded just a bit now (I've had it for nearly 15 years), but not badly. I'll probably get it touched up in a few years to brighten up the colors.
Are you comfortable with sharing a picture ?
Sorry, I'd rather not at the moment. It's nothing fancy to look at; almost like a clipart of a generic bird.
Ok np 👍
I loooooveee meaningful tattoos, 2 of mine are really meaningful and they're my favourite
No :( And it's 100% on account of never having the cash for it That's especially as far as tattoos go because they're fkn expensive.
I did have a safety pin in my ear for a really short time lol. I've had my nose pierced twice. I had my eyebrow pierced. I tried a home job of piercing my lip years ago but it swelled up too much for the actually jewelry I had for it, so that didn't happen. Mostly I'd lose the piercing or part of it that screws in or whatever, then not have the cash on hand to replace it. So.
I'm dying to start getting tattooed though and I'd love to get pierced again. Especially my nose, specifically a selection of pretty studs to choose from, maybe a ring for certain occasions. And I'd love to get some lobe piercings this time. This is all highly dependent on me getting my shit together though.
Edit: I don't mean lobe stretching, I mean lots of piercings along the edges of my ears, whatever that's called.
No. Too expensive, too much of a commitment, never really had an interest.
I'm not a "body is a temple" type, but i prefer the aesthetics of a car without bumper stickers.
I've wanted a tattoo since I was about 15 (and I'm 35 now) but I never pulled the trigger on it.
I never found an artist who was just right or a design I would be happy having on my body forever!
They're awesome though, and I love seeing other people's.
I didn't get one until I was in my 40s! Now I have 5. Fucking love them and more are planned.
I got my first at 31 (33 now). I have 2 now, and have plans for more. I was constantly wishy washy about what I'd want, and decided to just do something simple for my first, I got the outline of the James Webb Space Telescope main mirror on the back of my calf. Figured someday I could either fill it in with some cool space-y patterns, or incorporate it into some other piece. For a while I thought about filling it with parts of the first JWST deep-field shot, and also getting a bee with a space helmet (since the mirrors are hexagonal it kinda looks like a honeycomb, and bees are cool), but I couldn't figure out any way to make a bee look reasonable with a space helmet, so dropped the bee plan lol.
My second, I got a Figbash riding a unicycle above my left kneecap at a halloween flash event on Cape Cod to benefit the Edward Gorey House museum. I love my silly little guy and it's made me want some more silly little guys. Specifically, the "tines" fork driving a racecar from the valentines day Teen Girl Squad episode, and a design I saw for Richard Scarry's Lowly Worm driving his apple car, but the car was a skull instead of an apple. I can't actually find any photos of Figbash healed up, and I can't get to him when wearing pants so I can't take one now, but he looks great and I have no regrets.
Okay, all of those are amazing.
I have lots of weird little "widgets" I love and would probably hold close to my heart forever (Mr Toad, Quar, etc.) so I suppose a mishmash of things is as good as something "meaningful". And I guess those things are more likely to stay dear to me over something "big"!
Multiple tattoos! I used to have multiple piercings as well, but they all ultimately rejected, so now I have none
No tattoos yet, I want some but don't know what I want. I do have both earlobes pierced, an industrial on my right ear, two helix piercings on my left, a nose ring, a lip ring, and both nipples.
There is a black tattoo on my left calf of a crow because I love to watch them. It's down left please ignore the doodles it's uhhh unrelated.
I had my ears pierced as a young teen, it was what girls did then.
I haven't worn earrings for nigh on twenty five years so I'm hoping they've closed up by now.
I'm the same! I had mine double pierced cos it was the 90s
I have a few tattoos. One of my latest is a simple design on my ring finger. I haven't been able to wear jewelry for years, including my wedding ring, so I got a design on my finger as a sort of placeholder. Making plans to eventually work on a floral sleeve.
No. I find tattoos quite attractive. But I also have a problem making permanent or long-term decisions. I just know I would regret whatever design I chose, just as soon as it was finished.
Yes.
I really like piercings. It’s pain you can control. I’ve got a lip, 2 nostrils, industrial (which is constantly irritated, might take it out), conch, and 1/2” lobes. I used to have 2 tragus piercings, but they rejected, as they were done at home (stupid teenager!), and a navel.
I love what I have right now, and will regret when I take out my industrial. It is healed, but has an irritation bump that has not gone away for like 2 years. When it gets close to clearing up, I either accidentally sleep on it or bump it, which causes the bump to inflame 😔
Years ago I was planning one. A Chinese dragon, except with wings; or a slender wyvern, if you want. Holding an open book in one hand, and a sword in another.
I never got the drawing just right. And eventually gave up the idea of the tattoo.
No piercings because they scare me, but I do have tattoos. 5 big ones on chest/torso/back/shoulder, and one tiny one on my foot.
Yup.
Nothing extravagant though. Regular ear piercings, no stretching or anything. Just not my thing, though I think it usually looks awesome. I only wear one stud nowadays, and even that is kind of a nostalgia thing for back when I was embracing the idea of rejecting gender norms for men. At this point in my life, I've embraced that fully, and have found my personal masculinity, so the ear rings just started to be a hassle lol.
Not going into too much detail on something like this, but I have a norse themed piece on one arm, an Egyptian themed one on the other. Never managed to get the planned additions done, and likely never will unless my wife decides to have an affair with a good inker that I can blackmail into free tattoos.
If I had the funding, I have plans for both arms, back, chest, and one thigh. But we'd be talking thousands of dollars, and even if I had the money, I'd still put it to something that's a higher priority.
Yes. I didn't have much of choice as I got my ears pierced with I was very young.
