It does fine for many proofs, but it will occasionally just make shit up when it needs to do arithmetic. Iβve only used the free version though.

Wolfram is a lot cheaper. One time payment of like 5 bucks and it's been on my phone for years.
Do you have to pay for symbolab? The last time I used was 10 years ago when tutoring a few students. I also paid for Wolfram alpha sometime last year.
Symbolab was free up to about four or five years ago, but good things never last.
Depending what are you doing, symbolab mis better.

WolframAlpha is a very fancy calculator you can essentially plug almost anything into and get a step-by-step guide to solving the equation. I believe it can do much more than that, but that's what most people use it for.
