I heard the mathematicians have a way to describe this profound relationship: Dolphins ⊂ Whales

So are most land animals when you think about it.

But how the hell could a tetrapod...be able to blend in?

[–] rumschlumpel@feddit.org 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Most land animals are crustaceans (insects, spiders etc.), actually. Unless you define crustaceans as fish, too, which stretches the word 'fish' even more than including all land animals but isn't completely without logic, either. 'fish' is a really imprecise category.

Ah yeah, as the other commenter said, "tetrapods" is the term I should have used.

Jokes where you can learn somethin are always great. Love me some humor with a porpoise.

Literally just watched a video from Casual Geographic on this exact subject, like, only a day or two ago.

I fucking love Casual Geographic, he reminds me that every single animal out there is just incredible, except for humans. He showed me that gorillas are just pacifist vegans who are silly bitches, and not murder machines at all.

I have watched that gorilla video like a dozen times, and shown it to as many people as I can.

I still laugh my ass off when the silverback kidnaps his own daughter for a playdate then sassily shuffles away at light speed and swats the ball out of the way while the mom is in the background like "for fucks sake not again"

I loved that bit! Also just seeing gorillas slowly approaching someone only to playfully toss something at them or splash them with water and then run off like a cartoonish idiot with their dumb little legs. They’re just silly little guys!

I bet he could even make a video showing humans in a new light.

If anyone could it would be him.
