I've said it before and I'll say it again, the people trying to say this stuff is good and great and necessary for society just use it to jerk off, and have confused their feelings of personal pleasure with actual value to society.

We have so much porn, so much that it would probably take lifetimes to sift through it all, and niches to cater to every fetish possible but no I must do deepfakes of the girl I like or Taylor Swift.

[–] Le_Wokisme@hexbear.net 27 points 2 weeks ago

it's not new at all, people have been making regular fakes with dubious quality for 20+ years and there were probably teens pasting highschool yearbook photos onto magazines they found in the woods before that.

[–] EatPotatoes@hexbear.net 17 points 2 weeks ago

They are numb to all that. They need something more invasive and perverse. Porn is bad kids.

What's a LoRA? I've only seen that acronym for Long Range communications, this seems more like long range coomunication.

LoRAs ("Low-Rank Adaptations") are like small modular chunks that get tacked onto a generative AI model to introduce additional concepts, fine tune some aspect of it, etc, in a way that's generic enough that they work within a given family of checkpoints and sometimes across it within the same base model. Like something derived from SDXL might work with any other SDXL LoRA but probably won't because of the changes the major finetune strains of it made when retraining it (Pony XL, a notorious porn checkpoint derived from SDXL that spawned an entire ecosystem of further finetunes, in particular completely fried something and is incompatible with everything else).

In this case they're throwing a fit about Flux Kontext (a new finetune of Flux that's focused on image to image edits I believe? That's what I've inferred anyways) LoRAs designed for image-to-image edits to remove clothes are being removed from every major hosting site because they violate site policy and/or the law.

Tbh your definition hits, though technically think of it as extra specialist training or a filter to generate more specific results, there's ones for LLMs and image AIs, probably audio ones too, but I don't deal with those much so idk. LoRAs were the secret to that Danny Devito staring in a live action Little mermaid spoof that was circulating a few months ago.

Simple explanation: It's a plugin you use for fine tuning.

If you want to generate an image that always has a specific anime character for example, you use a LoRA for that character.

Same can be for poses or other things.

We need to figure out how to make all of these nerds' Stable Diffusion generate nothing but PPB.

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 11 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

You need to 20-40 images to train a LoRA so you'd need a collection of 20-40 pigpoopballs images.

why the fuck are they on some semantic bullshit instead of "it doesn't directly harm the person i'm going to harass later, the harassment causes the harm"?

[–] FunkyStuff@hexbear.net 17 points 2 weeks ago

I think these people are the ones that got their brains fried by antifeminist culture war stuff from 2016 and on. They probably live their lives thinking that women want to oppress them and have developed a whole system of libertarian tricknology to rationalize their positions. They are saying that their absolute freedom to do whatever they want with their computers comes before any other consideration, and they're so convinced of that point that they don't even see how someone might think otherwise (and thus, they fail to see the very basic defense that a more marginal group like l*licons have developed).

The logical endpoint of reflexive "anti-authoritarianism" and liberal individualism. They want to have absolutely no responsibilities or duties to fellow humans.

There are some very emotionally unstable people in the world.

[–]PublicTour7482 8 points 3 hours ago

Especially when it comes to online, if you actually met a lot of these people face to face they become more reasonable, but the lack of real physical interaction online makes people almost forget there's another human on the other side.

This is the freaks talking about someone with a GitHub and some modicum of moral integrity. Don't need to read anything else.

Weren't these things in the news recently because high schoolers were using them to make and distribute what was effectively child porn of their classmates?
