I never would have guessed this. Most of the older wrestlers are GOP or worse. Hell, I think one of them is a mayor or something in TN.

Yeah, that's Kane

He's a Libertarian

[–] prole@hexbear.net 10 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Is he? I just looked it up and he ran as a Republican and endorsed Trump. Seems like just another magat afraid to call themselves a conservative

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 9 points 2 weeks ago

Pretty much that yeah

[–] eldavi@lemmy.ml 11 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

they're mostly libertarians and more politically knowledge than your average republican.

Lotta parallels between american politics and pro wrestling.

I wish!!! Things would be A LOT better if it were more like them.

I had an ex that was REALLY into wrestling and I learned through him that the average wrestling star is significantly more politically astute than the average American voter.

Some, like John Cena, are veritable Renaissance men.

What I think they meant is that a lot of people in wrestling have gone to have political careers. Ventura, Kane, Linda McMahon, etc

[–] BelieveRevolt@hexbear.net 9 points 2 weeks ago

tbh I don't expect good takes out of any pro athlete (which I'd classify wrestlers as).

You won't believe the kinda shit older wrestlers got up to. Some even hint at possible use of GHB spike drinks like marty jennety. These guys were on shady shit

[–] 666@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 2 weeks ago

Absolutely. I wouldn't be surprised if nearly all of them did. Kevin Nash has said some stupid shit in the past too but as of recent he's radlibbing his way into the first Maoist in the HOF.

He is from Detroit, and that's why the episode of Detroiters he's in is great

[–] Thordros@hexbear.net 20 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I always played as Nash in WCW vs. nWo World Tour. Now I know why.
