The cutting and privatization of government services has of a perverse logic, since the capital class only cares about whether they can extract profits from those privatized services.
But seeing the cuts to the state capacity of the Empire really demonstrates how they've lost the plot. These are all the coup-planners who keep the global south mired in IMF loans. That's the framework that makes hyper exploitation and their super profits possible!
It answers the perennial question of "are they cynical about their ideology or are they high on their own supply". For this administration at least, it's clearly the latter.
