"How dare they create a fictional story that has a few coincidental plot points that mirror Israeli atrocities. It's an attack against Israel to call out Israeli atrocities as atrocities."

[–] pennomi@lemmy.world 72 points 3 days ago (1 children)

The fact people feel targeted by things that only superficially resemble their behavior is really more damning than anything else.

So you’re admitting you already knew better, and you felt guilt for it, but you did these things anyway?

"I can't believe how Stanley Kubrick wrote Jack Torrance as a personal attack on me."

[–] Witchfire@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

"Why does every ink blot look like my parents fighting?"

[–] A_norny_mousse@feddit.org 9 points 2 days ago

I wouldn't say coincidental, but the narrative of a small underdog (nation) fighting against an overwhelming, controling, ruthless larger enemy isn't exactly rare in entertainment.

It's almost like Israeli doesn't equal Jewish. What a government of a country doesn't equal a race of people. Plus those two people were American and Canadian and created Superman before Israel was even created by the British in 1946.

[–] HobbitFoot@thelemmy.club 3 points 2 days ago

It's like the Tuvok/Kim meme.

[–] A_norny_mousse@feddit.org 3 points 2 days ago

It would be interesting to see if they had anything to say about the state of Israel & its actions against Palestinians.

According to OOP, plenty of Jews/Israelis are also "Antisemites".

Well, if the shoe fits.

This is why ethno states are a bad idea. These people are unable to separate their government from their ethnic identity.

This doesn't seem so much like "leopards ate my face" as "fuck that guy in the mirror"

[–] RickyRigatoni@retrolemmy.com 3 points 2 days ago

I think this would be self aware wolves maybe?

[–] otter@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 3 days ago

So, this particular leopard is an ouroboros — in a fitted shoe. Makes sense.

[–] finitebanjo@lemmy.world -1 points 3 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (2 children)

It's a dude in the face eating leopards party complaining about nobody stopping the leopards from eating faces.

This is prime Face Leopard material.

EDIT: I made this reply in the wrong comment thread lol mb

[–] naught101@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I don't think that person is in a political party?

[–] finitebanjo@lemmy.world 0 points 2 days ago

Yeah I thought I was in a different comment section earlier lol

[–] acockworkorange@mander.xyz 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I see more as a self aware wolf.

[–] Jikiya@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I do not believe that guy is self-aware.

[–] acockworkorange@mander.xyz 0 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Selfawarewolf

Someone who points out their own bigotry, mistakes, or flawed reasoning, often in other people, but fails to realize that they’re in the wrong whatsoever. Sometimes they stumble upon or describe the exact thing they’re doing wrong, nearly transforming into a genuinely self-aware creature.... but they’re still in denial.

Fits for me.

[–] Jikiya@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

1.) Seems he is a Selfawarewolf 2.) I was confused about what that meme truly is

Let us hope he can one day drop the wolf part.

Guess what Zionists. When you equate Judaism, the Jewish ethnicity, and the citizens of Isreal, and the government of Isreal, you sound racist as fuck, and stupid too.

Edit: To the downvoter, that goes for you too, asshole.

[–] log@mastodon.sdf.org 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

@finitebanjo Just saw the movie, and my entire posse thought the dictator guy was 100% Putin coded. Although, yeah, the mockup maps totally looked like north and south Gaza turned about 75 degrees clockwise.

[–] morphballganon@lemmy.world 1 points 23 hours ago

I guess I've never seen Putin speak. I thought the dictator guy acted like Hitler but oddly looked like a mix of Karl Marx and Albert Einstein.

[–] elucubra@sopuli.xyz 21 points 2 days ago (1 children)

There is not much antisemitism regarding the Gaza genocide/liebensraum. There is anti-israelism, which is different.

Also, Israel is profoundly anti-goyim.

[–] Laser@feddit.org 11 points 2 days ago (1 children)

liebensraum

I don't think this is what you meant. You've created a portmanteau from Liebe (love) and Leben (life). But that word doesn't exist

[–] makyo@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago (1 children)

A sad statement on humanity that 'Lebensraum' exists in its form but 'Liebensraum' does not.

[–] Laser@feddit.org 6 points 2 days ago (3 children)

It would be "Liebesraum" without the n; that word could exist.

[–] SkaveRat@discuss.tchncs.de 7 points 2 days ago

I generally call it "The fuck shack", but I will adopt this new name

[–] makyo@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

Ach so, gut zu wissen

[–] Tar_alcaran@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 days ago

I have a Liebesraum in my basement right now.

[–] GrabtharsHammer@lemmy.world 16 points 3 days ago

What's that old saying... A hit dog will holler?

[–] Grimtuck@lemmy.world 14 points 3 days ago (1 children)

There's a load of films created after 1946 that follow similar plots. Are they also criticising Israel?

[–] theacharnian@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 days ago

For example?

[–] morphballganon@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

This has got to be satire/bait, or they wouldn't have used the word "attack" to describe what the white army was doing
