Intelligence agency reveals that intelligence agencies are used to spread false narratives, but this time you can totally trust us

These disclosures reveal a systematic effort to distort intelligence and manipulate public opinion in order to delegitimize political rivals and escalate aggressive policies against Russia.

Healthcare please yes-honey-left

This is known, the radio war nerd guys did a good job explaining how this was a shoot in the foot that wrecked the heads of many in the republican base

The problem with being an insane crank is that when you release something legitimate people dismiss it as insane crankery

I hope trueanon covers this because I can't be asked to sort truth from fiction

You mean the russia gate stuff?

I think true anon must've covered it at some point but recently the radio war nerd guys did a recap of where all that shit came from, basically to explain why trump seemed to actively dislike ukraine at the start of his term because a faction of the ukranian elite decided to align with the democrats.

Basically the only real thing about russia gate was that trump's at one point campaign guy Paul Manafort had done some consulting or other for Yanukovich's ukranian government, which had been democratically elected btw, that meant that there was a record or something of "trump's campaign manager having been given money by pro-putin ukranian", that's literally it, they pulled the thread, it led nowhere cos it was just a finance guy doing consulting but the media blitz made trump fire the guy, he ended up getting arrested but it was for other financial crimes shit. Besides that it was a lot of just made up bullshit.

But in practice it was super destabilizing because it showed a lot of right-wingers that there IS a deep state, that trusted liberal news source DO post fake news that is debunked by right-wing outlets and that this one guy was the target of it all so he must be doing something right

I'll give that a listen during shop time today thanks for sharing. I'm familiar with some of the origin story, but not all. Specifically what I am hoping they (or someone trusted) will cover is the HPSCI report that the admin is out there pushing now. Might just be a rehash of the same old stuff from 2020 but because the push is that Obama should be jailed over it, there's very much a boy who cried wolf feel to it

Wow I didn't know they were trying to lock up obama for russia gate, doubt they have much of a case because there's not really a smoking gun since plenty of media outlets pushed russia gate because it aligned with their interests (and good ratings too). Hope it happen anyway though

Same, this is what I was getting at with the insane crankery. They've been talking about locking Obama up now for years so this is probably just more of the same, but maybe not who the fuck knows. The point is we need some real gumshoes with a knack for wading into right wing slop to do some real investigation

[–] grandepequeno@hexbear.net 3 points 1 week ago

A gumshoe you say deep-infiltration

Massive gift of political ammunition to the Republicans, Thanks Obama

I, for one, am absolutely ashamed. Obama was important to so many people here. He was a trailblazer for leftist entryism into a staunchly center-left government. He did so many great things from bringing peace to Libya to providing healthcare for all who want it. He made the US a leader in oil production and shepherded us through a great economic crisis. He was also very articulate and had a lot of swagger. But to betray our values like this, and not afford someone up-and-coming with the same opportunities he had when being elected -- shameful.

this is a good bit

If you like your false political narrative, you can keep it.

[–] WhatDoYouMeanPodcast@hexbear.net 23 points 1 week ago (2 children)

If intelligence agencies did that then why did Comey torpedo Clinton in the 11th hour of the 2016 election?

[–] Satanic_Mills@hexbear.net 18 points 1 week ago

Revenge for a blowout in that year's CIA FBI softball game

[–] GoodGuyWithACat@hexbear.net 5 points 1 week ago

Because KKKillary was Iran's Manchurian candidate.

[–] acab_means_cop_Dva@hexbear.net 22 points 1 week ago

Thanks, Obama

I'm saying if the president does it, it's not illegal!
