Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

“The restaurants now are booming. People are going out to dinner where they didn’t go out for years, and it’s a safe city,” he told reporters just outside the restaurant. “We have a capital that’s very, very safe right now.”

Fucking bald-faced liars.

And my heartfelt thanks to the protesters.

I fucking live here. Crime is extremely low where he is. The whole thing was a show from the beginning. "Democrat cities have crime and chaos, so i cleaned them up" is a talking point that he's spending hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars on, just to make himself feel special.

[–] A_norny_mousse@feddit.org 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

just to make himself feel special.

Oh there's so much more behind it. The extra force is in place now. Preparing for the next election. The next Jan 6. As both his cousin and his ghost writer said almost a decade ago: he will not go willingly.

[–] CaptainBlinky@lemmy.myserv.one 2 points 15 hours ago

Not to him. To him it's about being on top, being a winner. The policy shit is all done by other people. With his blessing, sure, but only after they talk to him in small words about how it's great and will make people love him even more.

Dude is walled in by guns and bulletproof cars. Even if DC was an active warzone it would feel pretty safe with a setup like this lol.

Guy is a scaredy cat, he decamped to bunker in 2020 because of blm protesters marching.

Then ordered military to shoot them, was rebuffed, ordered to just shoot them a little, was rebuffed. Military agreed to tear gas and some violence to defy their rights to protest.

No one will rebuff him long today. They all think the republic is already dead.

That says so much more about him than his words.

Is that Charlie Sheen on the left?

Ironically, the most stereotypically mexican looking guy lool. He looks like krazy-8's cousin who went to private school in that suit. He's got a hispanic name asw. Surprised he doesn't call trump ese or homes

[–] BrokenGlepnir@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago

I was in a DC restaurant last November. It was packed

[–] Lucky_777@lemmy.world 160 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Keep it going. Never let him get out in public free from this

[–] wellheh@lemmy.sdf.org 1 points 15 hours ago

I wonder if I'm just getting old but didn't this sort of thing happen in his first run? I recall even maga supporters couldn't get dates

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 70 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I'm old enough to remember how butthurt the cons and Huckabee were over being denied a cheese plate.

Yes, I hope Taco gets the finger - metaphorically and literally - any time he sets foot in public without having a "vetted" audience.

[–] nonfuinoncuro@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 day ago

I think Charles Darwin is a little older than that

[–] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 87 points 2 days ago

Safer? There's a felon in the restaurant with an armed guard!

[–] lambalicious@lemmy.sdf.org 66 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Being compared to Hitler is not going to disturb him that much, I feel. He loves it.

Which means, add to your repertorie! Like, you can call him "Mr. Krasnov" as well.

[–] kbobabob@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

You think he'd really get it?

[–] lambalicious@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 2 days ago

A shame if he doesn't (you can always add "Asset Krasnov" for clarity) but then again we don't expect much mental acumen from his ilk don't we?

Just add more stuff to the repertoire.

[–] MuskyMelon@lemmy.world 43 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Fuck calling him Hitler, he was a Pedophile first. Ask him about Epstein.

[–] BanMe@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Exactly, Hitler = shuts everyone's minds down as rhetoric. Pedophile... well that's just true and we all know it

[–] hector 5 points 2 days ago

He is directly emulating hitler, acheiving more of a mussolini. Fuck what his supporters think or how they respond.

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 1 points 1 day ago

Hes way to much like him to not have the comparison made. Sure as far as we know hitler was not a pedo so trump is way worse. I was watching a vidoe about the richest men in history and there was all this stuff I was unaware of with hitler where he copyrighted his speaches and image and then had germany pay him for stamps and posting his speeches. It was like wow. I thought trump was like hitler but its more like hitler is like trump.

[–] jerkface@lemmy.ca 0 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Most molesters don't molest children because they are pedophiles. That's a fucking cartoon grasp of reality.

[–] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 34 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Hardly fair. I don't recall hearing or reading that Hitler was a rapist and pedophile.

[–] duhlieluh@lemmy.zip 11 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

i do recall someone calling him a pedophile but theres probably more evidence against trumps case.

[–] vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Theres a lot of pictures of Hitler around children and he did a lot of programs with them but I feel like if he was a pedo it would've come out after the war, no fucking way the Soviets wouldn't have shouted it from the rooftops.

[–] ubergeek 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I dunno. Stalin had himself a child bride, of sorts.

Beria is right fucking there, I am aware of Soviet hypocrisy but if they could add more to his death they would've jumped on it.

[–] trager_bombs@lemmy.world 26 points 2 days ago

If not shit, why smell like shit

[–] Sumocat@lemmy.world 24 points 2 days ago

Was it a supporter?

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 16 points 2 days ago

LOL, watching Hegseth in that video with the eyes darting everywhere. Almost like he expects there to be a book depository nearby, with a window sliding open...

[–] SGforce@lemmy.ca 13 points 2 days ago

You'll make him blush

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 10 points 2 days ago

Did he take it as a compliment?

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago

/clutches pearls

[–] Coyote_sly@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago

I'm sure he was flattered.
