Ah this again.. BMW offers an indicator subscription.. you get 10 free flashes per month, and then if you haven't bought in, it's pay per flash.. sheesh.. how is that hard to understand? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

[–] cuntonabike@lemmy.world 28 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Us BMW drivers do use indicators, they’re just at a wavelength that poor people can’t see.

[–] Kusimulkku@lemm.ee 8 points 10 months ago

Similar to your dicks then

Easy oil exchange pump. You need to stroke it left and right in order to get the old oil out of the tip of the lever.

[–] uis@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

They usually hire specially educated women

[–] 0x4E4F@sh.itjust.works 1 points 10 months ago

Yes, I've also heard that women are usually much better at this job.

The state I currently live, Louisiana, and it seems like blinkers at all is a premium package upgrade. Hell, half the time cops don't even use them around here. The only vehicle I can reliably see use them are out of state 18 wheelers.

Was behind a driver's Ed car once, no kids, the instructor. No blinker used....

[–] AFC1886VCC@reddthat.com 15 points 10 months ago

I currently drive a BMW and I use them. But that's because BMW driver is a state of mind and not based on the car you own. I am a Toyota driver at heart.

[–] jaschen@lemmynsfw.com 14 points 10 months ago

All these "Sporty" cars bros do this. Just entitled bitches that want to hurt people.

[–] Nommer@sh.itjust.works 13 points 10 months ago (5 children)

Why all the hate for BMW drivers? Pickup owners should also be in this meme.

[–] son_named_bort@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago

The meme involving pickup drivers is that they're lacking downstairs.

[–] lanolinoil@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Nissan drivers are the real threat

[–] mmazikinn@lemm.ee 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

drills hole in exhaust

grrr I'm a race car

[–] lanolinoil@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

only 2 positions for the accelerator pedal

[–] Thcdenton@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

Come on down to Glendale, CA. You will understand.

[–] Slovene@feddit.nl 1 points 10 months ago

You can't expect people to stop being tribal.

[–] Doublepluskirk@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

Not so many pickup drivers in the rest of the world compared to the US. Plenty of BMWs though

[–] ICastFist@programming.dev 10 points 10 months ago

I wish that problem was confined to BMW, it's common enough to happen even with popular car drivers 'round these parts.

[–] ExLisper@linux.community 10 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (1 children)

In my experience Audi drivers are the worst. Whenever I see an idiot on the road there's always an Audi driver trying to out-idiot them right behind.

[–] jagungal@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

I know a guy like this. He's a great guy, very competent, gives up his time for his community. Drives his Audi like a cunt though.

[–] afraid_of_zombies@lemmy.world 8 points 10 months ago

if you ever think your job is pointless just remember there is someone who installs the turn signal system in BMWs

[–] BreadOven@lemmy.world 8 points 10 months ago
[–] EffortlessEffluvium@lemm.ee 8 points 10 months ago

There must be a whole bunch of “temporarily embarrassed” BMW owners, then…

[–] Cuberoot@lemmynsfw.com 7 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I tried sliding the control rod in and out of the steering column, but nothing happened. I think it's stuck.

[–] platypus_plumba@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

I actually did that when I was a kid trying to understand those mysterious car sticks my dad slapped with incredible confidence while driving.

[–] anarchy79@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago

"I can't read it, because it's literally blinding me right now, what is that, some kind of LED projector inside?"

[–] random_character_a@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

I resently switched from Toyota to Volkswagen. My signaling lowered by about 30%.

Here and there I just notice that I did it again.

[–] xoagray@pawb.social 5 points 10 months ago

This works for people in the state of Florida too.

[–] MacNCheezus 4 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I'd like to think that this is because BMW drivers are Orcs.

[–] uis@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

No, that would be Lexus.

[–] FrankTheHealer@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Story Time:

My brother once gave me a ride home from work, back before I could drive. He had a Mercedes. Not only was he drinking beer while driving, he refused to use his indicators/blinkers

When I asked him why he didn't signal to other drivers, he said with a smirk "They didn't come with this model" and proceeded to finish his can of beer.

[–] TseseJuer@lemmy.world 9 points 10 months ago (1 children)
[–] FrankTheHealer@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

No he works on a billionaire's yacht as an engineer. Maybe some day though lol

[–] drathvedro@lemm.ee 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Do yachts have blinkers though?

[–] FrankTheHealer@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

They don't. But if they did, I doubt they'd see much use

[–] drathvedro@lemm.ee 1 points 10 months ago

I checked, and it seems like they use horn signaling instead

I'll should start using those on my BMW...

Italy doesn't count. They have... Their own way of doing things.
