That's a good question, it makes me similarly think 'What happens to the social contract when a nation & government no longer provide security to it's own citizens?'

I don't disagree. Few people are better positioned to help make that a reality, however.
Twenty years ago she had Whoopi Goldberg's job on the TV women's talk-show, The View. During that time after a discussion about the (IIRC) Miss America Pageant she made some comments about what she thought of Donald Trump as a person. Like a canary in the coal mine he publicly lashed out at her and has never forgotten that slight. The only reason I remember this much is because that was when I first decided I adamantly disliked Donald Trump. His words at the time were the same level of viciousness and hostility that he is still known for today.
You're not wrong, but these days the number of members of the public that truly cares (to point of taking action) about privacy is an extreme minority.
"Only the good die young"
Even Jon Stewart said it this past Monday.
Since this news is coming from CBS i'd just as likely think it was price-gouging.
-Not that legality matters much these days, but is it even legal for a for-profit organization to use volunteer labor?
It would be best if done on a burner with a different IMEI & IMSI while also not at a place related to where you frequent. The FBI (who now has fewer resources than ICE) were using facial recognition and cell phone data to identify large groups of the opposition not too long ago. It wouldn't be a stretch to think ICE is going to do the same.
That just makes me wanna wear my nondescript ball cap & aviators with a medical mask.
That's an interesting excerpt. I always thought the proper response to an identified whatabout is to simply say "I asked you first." -That's assuming the opposite party refused to respond to the initial premise, argument, or question. I imagine if they did respond to the initial premise, argument, or question then asking whatabout... is just a standard form of discussion and debate, or so I'd think.
