I live in a city that is referred to as a "streetcar suburb." Every main road here had tram tracks, then the 50s happened and everything was torn out.

To be fair, mass transit is almost impossible to profit off of, even in the US, so private interests want nothing to do with it.

"Punishable by fine" just means "it's legal if you can afford it."

Mean Bean Machine is pretty much a westernized port of Puyo Puyo, which was itself a Tetris clone. The developer initially felt Puyo Puyo wouldn't be a hit with western gamers, so they replaced the characters with Sonic universe characters (or made new ones up).

I played Mean Bean quite a bit as a kid, but one of my brother's friends stole it along with a few other games.

The right is wavering between the fires being God's wrath for supporting woke, or the deep state using directed energy weapons to target conservatives.

Heartbreaking: the worst industry you know has made a great point.

Also, doesn't the Pentagon have contingencies in place for when the sea level rises?

The Enterprise is always the only ship that's within range to mitigate a crisis, even when it is near Earth, the capitol world of the Federation and where the big orbital shipyards are.

I love the mental gymnastics that chuds go through to convince themselves that cops and military aren't part of "the government."

I "love" when a show like Law and Order has a scene where the cops go to arrest somebody who is later proven to be innocent, and it's always at their workplace, or a busy family function, or a restaurant. The cops proceed to loudly accuse the person of the heinous crime right in front of their friends/family/neighbors/coworkers.

Then later on, the actual perp is arrested and no mention is made again of the innocent person they practically eviscerated in public or in front of their loved ones.

It's like these shows exist to subliminally train you to passively accept cops treating you like shit, even if you're innocent.
