I grew up on the water. Saw these stickers everywhere. Cool, we all go to the beach all the time, we live on an island.

Then 7 years ago I moved to central PA. I see one of these stickers on cars here all the time. I’ve been making fun of it for years. I think they don’t know the river here is fresh water.

I had a similar discussion with some people at a barber shop back when Pre-Elon Twitter banned Trump. They were complaining about free speech and I asked if they knew what it actually meant (in the US). When I explained that we are ONLY guaranteed free speech from the gov't, and that Twitter was a private business and could ban whoever they want, the same way this barber shop could tell someone not to ever come back everyone got real quiet like "oh shit I have to rethink my whole world view". I actually got thanked at another time by one employee for telling them how it actually works.

Need help finding keycaps for my Keycrhon K5 (lemmy.world)
 

Hello friends. I am new to the mechanical keyboard world. I purchased my first, a Keychron K5 Pro. I love it. Feels great, works great, sounds great. I would like to replace a handful of the keycaps however, trying to just customize a bit.

So my issue: I can't figure out what to buy. The K5 came with "Low-profile Double-shot PBT Keycaps". They measure about 4mm in height (just the keycaps). I'm looking for a handful of 1U caps, either in some fun colors or with random art printed on them. I am not opposed to getting a full set of keys if they are priced right.

From what I am reading in random places, XDA or DSA profile caps are CLOSE to what I have in size and shape. Can anyone guide me here? Maybe suggest a specific seller or a better search term than "Low Profile PBT Keycaps"? I seem to be finding a lot in other profiles (I get it, I purchased a kind of specific keyboard type), but not a ton of caps that seem to be correct for me.

Please help! Thanks in advance homies.

I feel like whenever I see the ampersand on this website, it’s followed with “amp;”. I’ve noticed it other places on the internet also. Why does this happen? Is it some programming thing?

Using Shortcuts and Focus to mimic "profiles" from Blackberry (lemmy.world)
 

Hello friends. Shortly before I made the move to iPhone back in the beginning, I had a short stint with Blackberry as my device. One thing I LOVED that the Blackberry did, was Profiles (at least I think that's what it was called). It was a one button push to a menu where I could decide which profile I was using. This "profile" was essentially a settings overhaul, that allowed you to change things like ringer/notification volume, vibration settings, and maybe that was it. Either way, I've been wishing for this function in iOS ever since.

What I have: iPhone 14Pro, latest iOS version (iOS 16.5)

What I've done: Set up shortcuts that are on my home screen as buttons, which change my Focus. I have 3 Focus modes right now.

  1. Daytime - Full volume and long vibrate, easy to hear notification sounds
  2. Vibe - 35% volume, same notifications as Daytime
  3. Sleep - No notifications except calls/texts from my favorite contacts. It's essentially an all-but-an-emergency setting

What I'd Like: I want to be able to add any necessary steps to these shortcuts to change the notification sounds for the "Vibe" focus. This focus is meant for when i'm sitting at home or with friends and can hear my phone easily. I don't need to change all the sounds. Just texts, email, ringtone, voicemail. You know, the stuff that I'm most likely to receive.

Does anyone know how I can do this? Like I said, I've already got the shortcuts set up, I just need to add the notification sound changes. Is this possible? I cannot figure it out!
