what is douche agriculture? Is this about growing the douches or is it more farmers who are assholes?

Letting sliced tofu marinade in an acid like vinegar or citrus juice (plus a little salt and seasonings) will make the inside deliciously bright and tangy.

If you pan fry it you don't need corn starch or anything, you just have to pat it dry before putting it in and be paitent.

At Aldi its like $1.75 or thereabouts but the tradeoff is that it has the worst consistency of any tofu I've ever seen. It is sold as "extra firm" but I'm not even sure if the silken - firm spectrum can even apply to this stuff. Great for making seitan, pretty meh for everything else. Don't press it, that makes it angry.

CW: General Queerphobia, Doomposting.Simultaneously I am and am not looking forward to pride month this year.

On one hand I'm me (yay!) and I feel great about myself (woohoo!) and I should have time to actually attend events this year (wheee!).

On the other hand it would be the perfect time for DonnyDon and his crew to bring the hammer down on us during what is supposed to be a time to celebrate queer resilience. I half expect to find out they had been holding on to the spiciest E.O.s for june, just to rub it in a bit more.

Bleh.

This will have gone from a shitty theme month at some bar to a political rally with a petting zoo in front of the Idaho state capitol in less than a year with no publicly available information about sponsors or donation numbers. A letter from the IRS confirming their status as a 501C3 public charity is dated to January of this year. Now I'm not exactly sure how that all works but 5ish months to get major donors on board seems like a tall order. Their special guests appear to be reactionary twitter guys.

Not exactly confidence inspiring.

My bet is this is going to be DashCon for queerphobes and a total sausagefest.

Oh huh, that makes a lot of sense now.

Nah yeah its like that everywhere. At first it seemed sales tax thing to make the price an even $16 or something but at 8% it comes out to 16.07 so its... genuinely suspicious.

He very well may be. This is anecdotal but I've noticed that some people use autism as a shorthand for other disabilities, particularly if they aren't close with the individual in question. I have no idea how widespread this is but it creeps me out a little every time I notice it happening.
