False flag so China can put boots on the ground for “peacekeeping”? Classic imperialist trick.

China, infamous for its boots-on-the-ground interventions in other countries. Also its 750 military bases in 80 countries.

I think goat capitalized Whites to refer to anti-communists, not white people.

Then again, with the stuff he's posted in the past, who knows

It's six years old, but The Haunting of Hill House is great. It's good horror in its own right, but also uses horror to explore family and childhood in an interesting way.

We need similar purges for misogynists

We need bait threads. Not only to lure out the worst offenders, but also to drive discussion that will reeducate everyone else. Purging isn't enough. There needs to be site discourse, so that when someone points out misogyny, enough other people will recognize that they're right to prevent a dogpile. Also people here need practice articulating why a comment is misogynistic, which will help with enforcement.

What the fuck. Is this a thing? Is this a whole strain of crank?

Why did America try to overthrow Assad, and why did Russia step in? I’ve heard vague things about Americans guarding oil fields in Syria. Was the operation in Syria mostly motivated by oil or is the picture more complicated?

Where? Did I miss something? The article talks about Charles Lindbergh Senior, not his son the aviator, and the word naziism only appears twice in the entire article, neither time in relation to either Lindbergh. Covert Action Magazine is a leftist publication with an emphasis on covering capitalist intelligence operations. Most of their recent articles are about Gaza. They’re not going to be fans of the Lindberghs.

It surprises me how many spies seem to be authors or painters. With painting I almost wonder if agencies seek out painters, or even train agents to paint, because painting gives agents an excuse to sit in public and observe a location for a long time. The Israeli agent who blew up Ali Hassan Salameh (along with multiple bystanders) was standing in her window, painting, when Salameh's car drove past the bomb that had been planted in a parked car below. Reportedly she either pushed the button herself, or gave the signal.

So deeply sick of avoiding people and losing connections or never forming them.

To add onto that, Wikipedia has a surprisingly good page about Oct 7 Israeli friendly fire, which includes a paragraph on Yasmine Porat
