Image is of a Hezbollah missile attack on a military camp west of Jenin.
The situation between Hezbollah and Israel is rapidly escalating, with massive bombing campaigns on southern Lebanon by Israel predominantly on civilians (as the tunnels in South Lebanon are mostly unreachable to the Zionists, just like in Gaza), while Hezbollah and its allies respond with missile attacks predominantly on Israeli military facilities. Israel is spreading an evacuation order to the residents of southern Lebanese villages while also bombing their routes of escape and civilian infrastructure, similar to a terror tactic used widely in Gaza.
Northern Israel is currently under military censorship to hide their losses, so we get very little information other than what the Resistance provides and what videos and images get through the censors.
I don't know if Israel will dare a ground incursion soon, but it seems fairly likely in the coming days or weeks.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.
Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.
Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.
Simplicius, who publishes on Substack. Like others, his political analysis should be soundly ignored, but his knowledge of weaponry and military strategy is generally quite good.

Does daily, if rather bland updates on the number of Ukrainians killed, etc. The figures appear to be approximately accurate; if you want, reduce all numbers by 25% as a 'propaganda tax', if you don't believe them. From the Al-Jazeera live feed:
I don’t recall Biden ever being more clear that what he wants isn’t a cease fire, it’s for Hamas to surrender. When he says “Gaza free from Hamas’ grip”, he’s saying he wants a Palestinian Authority situation - which is precisely what Israel wants. Literally everything he said there is just what Israel wants: return the hostages, keep Israel “secure”, and for Hamas to self-immolate and hand over Gaza to either to Zionist lapdogs or an international coalition of American lapdogs. The idea that this man is putting any pressure on Netanyahu is obviously ridiculous.
It's time to finalize a Ukraine-Russia ceasefire deal in which the government in Russia is overthrow and replaced by somebody who is aligned with American aims, which is definitely not indistinguishable from a surrender
Hitler says 'time to finalise Spain deal' and 'end this war'
German chancellor Adolf Hitler has urged the nationalists and the republicans to finalise a months-old ceasefire proposal, telling the League of Nations he was committed to ending the war in Spain.
"Now is the time for the parties to finalise its terms," he said of the deal brokered by Germany, Italy and Finland.
The deal will “bring the hostages home and secure security for the nationalists and Spain free from the republicans' grip, ease the suffering in Spain and end this war,” Hitler told the League of Nations General Assembly.
is this a joke or just the shittiest take I have read in weeks?
All Hamas has to do to win the war is survive. They have not been defeated militarily in fact their ranks have grown. The al-Aqsa Brigades are still hitting the idf and so they are not defeated. They are still exerting pressure on isisrael because they still have hostages and still have fighters. Lives wont be saved with a ceasefire on isisrael's terms it will just take things back to the slow genocide that was happening before October 7th.
This is the "I hate the government not the people" reddit brain worm on crack. Hamas is the government of Gaza. The resistance is not just Hamas but they are the largest group within the resistance. The resistance is Gaza. There is nobody that matters in Gaza that doesn't support the resistance. The only reason Gaza exists is because the people refused to give up on returning home. If there was no resistance there would be no Gaza.
10 day old account, too.
I think their heart is in the right place but they seem to have been exposed to critical levels of western propaganda. A lifetime of consuming shit media makes fertile soil for brain worms. Its all but unavoidable in the global north but this seems to be an extreme case.
We need to give each lib a chance. We all started somewhere. Even The One True Leftist used to be a lib with brain worms.
If I got 100% yeeted for my shitty takes early on I'd probly have gone down another pipeline. I got bullied pretty good and came out better for it.
"To hear incorrect views without rebutting them..." is the sixth type of liberalism. Tell them their ideas are wrong and why they are wrong. If you feel the need to call them a dummy in the process it might help but if you overdue it you are just going to drive potential comrades away.
Personally I really dislike Day because he gets too caught up bullying comrades over minor disagreements instead of reaching out and trying to educate. Sometimes he may have a position of merit but he gets too caught up denigrating comrades instead of trying to explain why an idea is wrong. By the time he does get around to doing a decent writeup supporting his position, half the people who should read it won't because he has been a jerk. Other times he writes 10,000 words to nitpick a semantic point.
This is not really a ceasefire. Read Biden's quote again. The conditions he and Israel have set are for the resistance to give up its leverage and for the governing organization of Gaza and head of the resistance to give up power and disband.
The former is needed for the latter for any medium-term realistic scenario.
Somewhat. In this instance they are working with and often within Gaza as part of the resistance.
"Israel" is an ethnic supremacist genocidalsettler colonial apartheid state. Its people depend on the sense of their superiority and invulnerability that this system provides them. The capturing of so many hostages and holding them for so long is much of what has made the population so freaked out. It shattered this psychology and they are trying to regain it. Getting them back is a step towards doing so, so there had better be something truly compensatory in any large exchange.
Such as? The socialists of any importance are part of an alliance with Hamas. They are fighting in coordination.
So something like 5% of the population?
I think you are also confused about what the term "erasure" means. None of your logic here suggests they erased anything you've described.
To me it sounds like you're trying to justify why your criticisms of Hamas should be taken as valid, not anyone of note in Gaza.
Comrade, that is a bullshit Saudi state mouthpiece. These kinds of articles are meant to serve a simple and false narrative, which is that Hamas does not represent Gazans and is therefore separate from them and illegitimate. It is, "I hate the government not the people" but for the only militant governing party in occupied Palestine.
It is not hard to parse the tone and framing of the article. Example: "But some Gazans, who have lived in a climate of fear and restrictions since Hamas seized power in the territory in 2007, blame the group for the vast destruction caused by the war." Look at how much work that little unsourced and unexplained editorializing aside just did. Notice that the primary source content of the article is... seemingly random people who all happen to be criticizing Hamas and wanting a ceasefire. How do you think that happened? Why do you think Saudi media would want to push the US-Israeli line?
It's important to read media critically because if you aren't careful it will have you fighting against your comrades and the oppressed. PS there were zero leftist criticisms listed in that article.
love too "seize power" by winning an election (an election that Hillary Clinton complained the USA should have done more to rig so that Hamas wouldn't win)
