As someone who drinks 250-700mL of grain alcohol a day 5-6 days a week:
This man needs to drink less. He's not even doing it as a coping mechanism or to stave off withdrawal. He's drinking to be cringe.
My alcohol consumption was about this at one stage from like... Really intense boredom and debt. I'm pretty sure I was getting most of my calories from alcohol. :/
What derailed me from this drinking pattern was the weight gain. Well it has derailed for now but I wish there were other motivators since this just adds some fuel to self loathing fire.
I haven't found that I've gained weight personally but drinking gin/vodka/baijiu w/o chasers or mixers probably doesn't provide your body with usable calories.
It's not as bad as beer or when mixing it with sugary stuff but 200 mL of something like white rum still has 500 kcal in it.
He's only drinking 2 times a week according to this menu.
Beer and champagne on Tuesday and 3 beers on Thursday.
That's 2 times too many if those two instances of drinking are cringe.
Having drinks on a holiday and grabbing beer with your buddies is cringe? Then again I'm sure every thing this guy does is cringe.
Specifying "single millennial man" and "3 beers" implies this entire ordeal is performative for internet points.
Like, it gives off a "haha, no broads around, gonna get some brewskis with the boys... on a week night???". Like it inherently implies that if he were in a relationship his week wouldn't look like this. It's boomercore "hate my spouse" posting which is inherently cringe.
I actually think that's an ampersand, not a 3. I write my &s in a similar way, but mine are a backwards 3 with a line through it
as someone who literally never drinks (maybe 1 beer every few months) i'm curious what clued you into that about this person. nothing jumped out at me like that but i don't drink like i said so unless it said like 7 beers every night i'm not likely to notice
It's performative because they're telegraphing that they're drinking in conjunction with being a "single millennial man" in the title. Implying the things on the whiteboard are unusual if not for the fact that they're single. Implying that if they were in a relationship they'd eat healthier and not drink.
The "oh yeah, we drink alcohol.... exclusively on weekdays!" aspect is highly cringe.
