Physiologically, you snort or have drugs given intranasally to help bypass the first pass effect (your liver cleaning all the stuff you eat before it hits your bloodstream, which sometimes we don't want if it's meds lol). It can matter how they're made, sometimes they need to be micronized or have some bit in the manufacture fixed. Sometimes with the right applicator and some water you can get things to help enter your bloodstream. I would be curious on if you can get prog to be taken at the right amount by snorting, easier to measure by scale and boofed or injected.

We boof/take progesterone by the anal route because it bypasses the liver on its first pass, so it helps with the drug be available to your body. Some people swallow it, some of it will get eaten by your liver but it might work better for some people.

Progesterone in capsules is usually contained in some kind of oil, which sounds like a really bad idea to snort because if it ends up in your lungs you risk lipid pneumonia. If it's a powder, i don't know how well absorption will work without such an oil as a carrier substance.

I've heard from a few people who've tried both oral and rectal use of prog and report different effects from each route, but prog's effects are all over the place to begin with, there's very little research into them and you basically have to try things out for yourself and see how it works for the immediate effects people take prog for (as a sleep aide and for libido). And how it affects breast growth is honestly really difficult to say for sure. Like, when i was on prog, sure, my breasts grew, but that was between my 12th and 18th month of HRT, they just do that during that time and i have no way to tell if they did so more than they would've otherwise.

never heard about this and no idea about viability but i would strongly recommend against because you would quickly do physical damage to your nose/sinuses. if you could formulate some kind of nasal spray it might work, but afaik powders can't really go up there without doing damage in the long run. if you're really drawn to the powder you could boof it in solution form? but that would definitely be more effort than actual suppositories.

I’ve never heard of snorting it but apparently there were some studies being done with prog nasal sprays in the 90s with success. So I’d assume that it would work, although there has to be a reason why it never took off. Maybe unstable levels, maybe side effects, who knows.

But considering that there are already great alternatives, even to those without vaginas, I’d just forget about the snorting thing and use a method that is proven to work reliably.
