Conversely, this implies that if the US were to defeat a foreign power, they should expect to be slaves to us. Apparently you either are a slave or a slaver. In no world can we just be equals. Wild idea for the people who think seeing US history as oppressors vs the oppressed is misrepresenting history.
Do conservatives even deny this?
The ones I know just say yeah, that's how the world works
Conservatives I know do have this zero sum mentality. They think the world is dog eat dog and everyone is against you and so you should look after yourself (and the family which they want to have patricharcal lordship over)
They live in a sad and lonely world
That is where literally most of the anti-China arguments come from. China will have a bigger economy. China makes more ships. So what?!!? They are doing their thing, just let them be. If you want more US ships, well no one is stopping the US from doing that.
The only ones who think like this are imperialist whites. Because to them, anything other than absolute domination is slavery. Treating others as equals is slavery. That's how all of that old 'white genocide' rhetoric started.
