tbf Kyle means "a narrow sea channel", Aiden means "little fire", and Tristan means "noise" or "sad" (lol)

every name has a meaning, they aren't just random noises

Woah. I just looked it up, and my name means something cool.

My name means something embarrassing and I can't say any more than that

Wdym Fartsmouth isn't embarassing at all

Mine too really, but only if you have humility.

Tristan does not mean sad. Tristan is from Britonnic, it's not Latin. Although tbf at this point that's a millenia old mistake.

my name means handsome and it's proof of nominative determinism

They are mostly gaelic names pressed through a bazillion years of gallicization and Anglicization, of course people lose their OG context and miss the meaning. A lot of other cultures still have names where the og meaning is still evident.

I have heard that my entire life. Looked through books of names, and struggling to recal a time where any etymology was provided to suggest that the author didn't just make shit up.
