Anyways, judging by all the "Tokio micro-apartments" youtube videos, if I wanted my population to increase I'd give them free decently-sized houses, that kind of stuff
Japan's immigration policies are horrendous. They happily accept whites, but treat any immigrants from neighboring countries like shit. That's if you can get citizenship in the first place.
There is an epidemic, for example, of children born to Japanese fathers and non-Japanese mothers who can't get citizenship or child support because Japan doesn't give these things by default:
