Yeah, honestly, as much as I want there to be some drama here, he probably did this to himself by accident. The kid punching him story is stupid, fake, gay, dumb, etc. Nobody really believes that shit.
If someone did actually punch him, he would have lost his shit, there would be a much larger fallout.
He's just a drug addict (not a bad thing, lots of beautiful people are, let's not shame), who is abusing others around him as a result of his drug abuse. He probably just hit his head on something while fucked on Special K/E/Adderall/etc.
I think most addicts would disagree with you that being an addict isn't a bad thing.
Hating addicts for being addicts, is a bad thing. They're still people, with full lives, and can be wonderful humans. They may also need help, or they may choose not to get help. The point being, we shouldn't judge people based on whether or not they're an addict.
Noone said they were hating him for his drug use. Being a drug addict is a bad thing by definition. If it wasnt a negative for the person we wouldnt call it addiction.
Unfortunately drug addicts are "judged" because they are simply riskier to associate with than a sober person. I'm not sure how many sober people are actually left though, and most people won't disclose their drug addictions.

It's a truly excellent and compassionate book, I found the discussion on brain chemistry fascinating as well, and should be easy enough to find with Libby or at a local library.
This ideology started in the 60s and 70s with moral panics against minorities. Drug Addicts are inhumane in our society and well were pathetic.
Where did you get the idea I hate/judge addicts? You made it up. You're willing to wash away the ugliness that the disease of addiction is, and that's a pretty bad thing to do.

Yes exactly. "It's not a bad thing" to me sounds like "hey man drugs are cool (which I either believe or am so desperate to sound accepting, I don't care how it comes across)"
They literally said "He's just a drug addict (not a bad thing...)" which is very different from "It's not a bad thing". So in this context it is you putting words into their mouth. You read their comments wrong and applied your own meaning to it.
They worded something weirdly, at best. But get all upset about it.
I'll clarify for everyone who's gotten this far down then and make it as straightforward as possible:
Musk should be hated for the things he's done and the people he's hurt in the world, not for his illicit drug use.
People wanting to conflate and jump on his drug use as if that explains everything awful he's been doing are feeding into the idea that drugs make everyone crazy Nazi assholes somehow. That's just not true. Drug use is awful for the people it affects and hurts, but it doesn't reduce the value of a life, or turn people into Nazi assholes unless they were like that way all along.
We should call out Musk's terrible ideals, his upbringing, his roots, his exploitation of billions of people in the world, his lack of empathy, his fraud, his market manipulation, his fucked up family views, his shitty fathering, etc. etc.
His drug use is only exacerbating that. It's not the cause. The cause is he's a truly fucking awful person who should stand trial for his crimes against humanity.
His abuse of Ketamine, E, Adderall, etc. is unrelated. We should not conflate those.

Nope, a shithead becoming more disconnected from reality becomes a bigger shithead every time. The people I knew who became more addicted became worse people. I no longer am friends with any of them except one.
I never once said I hated addicts, and I don't. I pity them and the people in their lives who also suffer due to their addiction. I know multiple people dead from their addictions whose families are damaged for life.
I knew someone who got out of jail early after some felony drugs charges and he learned nothing. He said he was going to try and sell just the right amount to maintain a certain personal supply. I cannot setup myself up for the kind of disappointment that comes with that kind of friendship, so after being very understanding for years, writing letters to him in jail -- I just cut ties. I later learned he became weirder and weirder. An Alex Jones nutbag, when he at least hid it before, if he always was one. The drug use getting worse is not unrelated. It's obvious.
Most people are drug addicts. Almost everyone I know is addicted to caffeine. Addiction sucks, but being an addict isn't necessarily bad. It's when it starts causing issues in your life or you can't handle yourself properly that it's a problem.

Yeah, I think I've read that sugar is more addictive than cocaine. Put simply, we're all addicted to things. I don't know if anyone in this world can truly say they aren't an addict. Some addiction are just more socially acceptable, but that just brings to light that addiction isn't the issue, it's the behavior. You should be allowed to be addicted to what you want as long as it doesn't harm others.
Virtually everyone is addicted to sugar, to the point that most people can't imagine that it's an addiction... until they try to stop.

It's a greentext meme. Everything on 4chan is "fake/gay".
It's not being used in a serious context here.
"That's how they do it on 4chan" is probably one of the worst possible justifications for one's behaviour.
I mean, even the various LGBT sub reddits commonly use that Chang in community saying "HA, GAAAY!" gif to various number of up votes.
I think context matters. My queer friends and I will call each other the f-slur, but I wouldn't use it at a family supper, for example. Likewise, I think the tone is different using "gay" in a queer meme community versus in a serious discussion on a news community.
I'm not defending the flippant use of it in day to day conversation. But considering this community (Lemmy) I think it's fairly safe to say they were not being homophobic.
I shut that shit down quick with some Gen z roommates I had when they said it everyone they died in a video game. For context, I am two standard deviations to the right of the bell curve when it comes to largeness, and I don't mean I was fat. My mom considered herself bi, but is married to a woman. After relaying that info to said roommate, I didn't hear it again.
That being said, I don't think that type is prone to the jumping through technological hoops required to create an account here.
Not trying to give credit to Elonazi. I just remembered that my kid (~19 months) smashed the babyphone onto my head. I would have gotten a black eye for sure if he would have hit it. Still love him. My son, not Elonazi, of course.
