ok so a few years ago i discovered my visual snow isn't just "vision being weird" and its a specific and currently poorly understood thing. Hadn't thought about it for a while, but just this morning while unable to sleep due to stress from being out of hormones (for a few days now), I first realized I heard a faint tinnitus-hiss, then realized I was seeing the usual visual snow, then realized that I think those have both been missing since I started HRT months prior (only noticing its reappearance). definitely an interesting lead for neuroscientists if HRT gets rid of visual snow + mild tinnitus, and I'll post an update when my hormones finally get here.
My mild tinnitus started a few years into HRT, so probably not a miracle cure (unfortunately). Weirdly I got my hearing tested and they didn't find any abnormalities in the test. I don't have any missing parts from my hearing. I just hear additional annoying noises.
