I really didn't understand that scene. Why are they making fun of Owen? Why is his co worker not embarrassed about being seen?socialized male? more like not socialized at all.

I took it as the co-workers trying to provoke Owen into responding to them because he's very avoidant with pretty much everyone in his life (like with his parents). But as cishets they only know how to connect with people via sexist dudebro talk. When Owen doesn't respond/make eye contact they get agitated and ostracize him even further.honestly i don't have a fucking clue what goes on through the mind of a straight man and every time i try and figure it out i only get more confused
Was it a thing were they think Owen is gay? Like a "yeah, you like sucking cock, removed" thing?
Or is it like "Hell yeah, dude! I was getting sucked off"?
Either "Owen is gay, lol!" or "Owen is a virgin, lol!".
Pretty sure Owen is the youngest person in that scene or is supposed to be viewed as the youngest person in that scene.
They're essentially making fun of him for being (as the manager and the other employee sitting opposite Owen are assuming) a virgin.
It's an autism thing, they keep telling him to make eye contact.
When somebody is using sex as a weapon in this way, when the power dynamic and situation doesn't allow for the person being attacked to physically get away, the best you can do is look away and hope the passivity makes you a "less fun target".
