  • remove siding
  • jack up house
  • remove rotted material (rim joist and sill plate) and replace with pressure treated wood
  • replace siding
  • install subfloor (10 sq ft or so with some cutting)

Yes but only if it's up to code. Like there will be an inspector that comes by as part of this cost and they say, "yep looks good!"

If this is under the table or otherwise avoiding being up to code, I think it's high.

I don't know but I just want to say that I'm supposed to discuss pay with my boss this week and I have no idea how much to ask her and I could use some help figuring that out if anyone wants to after you've gotten your answer

Sounds about right with some wiggle room to talk them down a few hundred. It's specialized work and doing it right takes time. You might see if you can do some of the demo by yourself to save some money.

Hard to say without a picture. Did they say how many days it would take to complete? Thatll give you an idea of they're bullshitting you.

My first thought is it's not ridiculous, maybe see if you can knock em down to $4k
